MSC is getting ready to take over America
When most Americans think of a cruise company, MSC usually isn’t the first name that comes to mind. If you asked people on the street, there’s a good chance most would name Royal Caribbean, with Disney and Carnival coming in second and third. Maybe Norwegian would have a spot there as well, but MSC? Probably not. Even though MSC is the third-largest cruise company in the world, they are still less known in the Americas, but that is supposed to change very soon.
Setting sail next spring from Miami, MSC World America promises to rival the biggest and most amazing ships in the industry, offering plenty of entertainment and dining options aimed directly at North America. Will they succeed? Only time will tell, but we are here to give you a sneak peek of one of the most anticipated ships of 2025.
Joining the Big Boys Club

MSC World America will be... big. In fact, it’s going to be the biggest MSC ship in the United States, accommodating around 6,800 passengers. For comparison, Icon of the Seas carries 7,600 passengers, while Carnival Jubilee carries 6,700 passengers. You can tell this ship will be “Americanized”, as it will feature seven distinct zones. Zones aren’t new to cruise ships and have been a big success with Royal Caribbean, especially on their recent ships, Icon of the Seas and Utopia of the Seas.
Family Aventura is one of the most hyped districts, designed entirely for kids. It’s a multi-level area located at the top of the ship, filled with rope courses, slides, a rock climbing wall and playgrounds for young adventurers. MSC World America will also feature a special swing called Cliffhanger, where adults and teens can swing above the ocean. Yes, you literally go outside the ship! Scary? A bit, yes. Awesome? Yep, especially as you gaze at the vast sea ahead and feel the wind blowing through your hair.
Lot’s to do, including building LEGOS!

MSC World America will feature 19 different dining venues, including four main restaurants, two buffets and two exclusive venues for guests in the MSC Yacht Club. The MSC Yacht Club will play a big part in this ship as well, featuring private areas for guests that stay in the top tier rooms that even count with the help of a private butler. Looking at it this way, it seems that World America is trying to be a family friend cruise ship, but also giving you the option to have a very luxurious and romantic vacation if you wish.
So, what other entertainment options are waiting for us? Does a roller-skating arena sound cool? It sure does! They will also have a main theater with Broadway-level shows and multiple pools (two large ones on the main deck). One of my favorite pools from previews, however, is the Botanic Pool, an indoor pool surrounded by trees and plants that makes it feel like you’re swimming in the middle of a Greek temple or something. It looks awesome.

Another great thing to look forward to? MSC is continuing its partnership with LEGO and bringing it to MSC World America. Details are still scarce for now, but expect to see LEGO areas on board where kids can relax and build whatever they like. World America will even feature a special parade around the ship, showcasing LEGO characters and giving you the perfect opportunity for a great photo. I wouldn’t be surprised if a character dining experience is introduced in the future to make taking pictures with LEGO characters even easier.
As you can see, this is a ship for those who want to have fun with their families or enjoy a romantic moment aboard the MSC Yacht Club. If you're a fan of big resorts at sea like Icon of the Seas, Utopia of the Seas, Carnival Jubilee, and Norwegian Viva, you should try MSC World America at least once. If you’ve never cruised with MSC before, MSC World America gives you even more reason to give them a try, experience their specialty restaurants, and see how they measure up against the competition.
