Taking you to the Caribbean for less than $250
The MSC Seashore is almost like MSC testing the North American market before the debut of MSC World America in 2025. This is a big ship that offers a mega-resort experience at sea. By now, you probably know what I’m talking about. Big, imposing waterparks? Check. Lots of restaurant options? Check. Something crazy onboard, like a roller coaster or go-kart tracks? Errr… maybe. They don’t have anything quite that unique, but MSC Seashore does feature a zipline, a Formula One simulator, and a big arcade that kids love.
This is a great ship for those who want to try MSC before diving into MSC World America. It offers amazing prices for Caribbean trips and visits Ocean Cay, considered by many to be the best, most relaxing private island in the Bahamas. The MSC Seashore has a really fun waterpark for families, great food, some nice shows, and a lot more, all at a great price. If you’ve never sailed with MSC before or if you’re a first-time cruiser, this could be a fantastic choice for your first trip to the Caribbean.
What we like about the MSC Seashore

Let’s start with one of its main offerings, the Pirates Cove Waterpark! This is one of the most fun waterparks at sea, and it looks awesome even from afar. It actually feels like something straight out of Pirates of the Caribbean, with massive Kraken tentacles and (fake) palm trees, surrounding splash zones, small kids' pools, plenty of waterslides, rope bridges, big water buckets, and… phew, even I’m tired just listing it all. Let’s just say there’s a lot to see here, and families can easily spend a whole day playing and enjoying everything this area has to offer.
The food onboard the MSC Seashore is also pretty good. That’s a huge plus, considering MSC is a budget cruise line, and some guests online have complained about their restaurants in the past. The complimentary food gets an eight out of ten, and the pizza is considered one of the best among all cruise lines. The specialty dining is even better, with great choices like Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar.
You also can’t go wrong with the price. It’s not uncommon to see Caribbean cruises costing $700 to even $1,000 per person to visit some of the most beautiful islands on Earth. MSC does things differently: a 4-night Caribbean & Bahamas cruise starts at just $250 per person, and a 7-night cruise starts at $445. It blows my mind that you can pay less than $500 for a week-long cruise to the Caribbean. I won’t say the MSC Seashore is perfect (it isn’t), but that’s a fantastic price for a cruise that delivers an 8/10, or even a solid 7/10, experience.
What we don’t like about the MSC Seashore

The main complaint about the MSC Seashore might take you by surprise. It’s actually… the elevators. Yep, that’s right. They’re quite slow and not big enough, making it difficult to move around the ship. The thing is, a lot of guests don’t know how they operate. In fact, you need to select the floor you’re going to before entering the elevator, using a small digital pad next to it. And if you have four guests heading to the same floor, you need to press it four times. It’s kinda confusing, yeah, and probably slows down the whole process.
The bars and lounges are also considered less than ideal. The Cabaret Lounge is a good example. This lounge often hosts comedy performances, but it’s positioned around pillars and right next to a big bar: that’s already two major issues. First, many guests don’t have a clear view of the show, and second, the noise from the bar can be so distracting that you can barely hear the performance unless you’re seated in the front rows.
There are also some other minor issues. The pools could be bigger. They get the job done, and there’s an adults-only infinity pool that’s pretty awesome, but if you love massive pools like the ones on Icon of the Seas, you might be a little disappointed.
Still, let’s keep in mind that you can cruise on the MSC Seashore for less than $500 for a week-long trip to the Caribbean. For that price, this ship still does a lot of things right and is a great option if you want to experience MSC while getting a nice tan in the summer.
