This might give us the crossover we've been waiting for: Yoshi vs. Doc Brown
It wasn’t that long ago that we at Famvia reported that Donkey Kong would be a meet-and-greet opportunity at Epic Universe, and we discussed how cool it would be for Yoshi to make an appearance as well.
Guess what? It looks like Universal reads Famvia, as Yoshi is set to debut at Universal Hollywood during the Fan Fest!
The Universal Fan Fest is a special, separate-ticket event taking place on select nights from April 25 to May 18, 2025, at Universal Studios Hollywood. General admission tickets start at $74 per guest.
This event is all about celebrating games, anime, and the world of theme parks. It’s similar to Halloween Horror Nights, but instead of Dracula and Frankenstein, you get Mario and Spock. Sounds like a fair deal, right?
According to Universal, “Step into the worlds of Star Trek, Back to the Future, Dungeons & Dragons, One Piece, and Jujutsu Kaisen, as well as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World.”
This event is right up my alley. I love most of the franchises listed here. After all, I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons for a few decades, and my interest in it only grew after playing the amazing Baldur’s Gate 3. Add in Back to the Future, Nintendo, and One Piece, and I’ll be a happy guy there.
In addition to a brand-new meet-and-greet with Yoshi, expect to see Yoshi-themed food and specialty beverages inspired by our favorite green dinosaur.
Universal will reveal more surprises about this event at a later date. For now, know that the Universal Fan Fest will take place on the following days:
- April 25, 26, and 27
- May 2, 3, and 4
- May 9, 10, and 11
- May 16, 17, and 18
