Legoland Florida might be one of the most underrated theme parks in the USA. Sure, it has some fierce competition with Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando not that far away, but a lot of people don’t think about Legoland when they plan a great vacation with their family filled with awesome Legos, roller coasters, and charming rides.
Legoland Florida is amazing for kids, and you should definitely consider it if you are traveling with children up to 12 years old. In fact, I went with my 3- and 5-year-old nephews, and they enjoyed it as much as Magic Kingdom. This is a theme park with chill rides and small roller coasters that are a perfect playing ground before younglings try something more intense, like the Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Jurassic Park River Adventure at Islands of Adventure.
Legoland Florida also has two additional theme parks that require separate tickets for admission: Legoland Water Park and Peppa Pig Theme Park. The water park can be a fun option on a hot day, but keep in mind that you'll likely spend the entire day there. Peppa Pig Theme Park is a smaller park, perfect for toddlers. This guide will focus exclusively on Legoland Florida.

Should I visit the Legoland Florida Water Park?
Good question. There’s already plenty to see and do at the main Legoland Park, but you can also visit Legoland's water park, which is located essentially within Legoland. It’s similar to Aquatica and Blizzard Beach, though smaller in scale. You can upgrade your Legoland ticket to include access to the water park for just $25 plus taxes per guest. If you plan on visiting the Water Park, make sure to go to Legoland Florida at least twice. Save a day for the main theme park, and another one for the theme park.
Should I visit the Peppa Pig Theme Park?
The Peppa Pig Theme Park is located right next to the entrance of Legoland Florida, and both parks share the same parking lot. It’s a great option for toddlers aged 1 to 5, but a bit lackluster for older kids. Since it’s a smaller park, a single-day ticket costs just $35. You can also save money by purchasing a combo ticket that includes both Peppa Pig Theme Park and Legoland. You should go there if you have toddlers in your party, but make sure to save a day for it and also a day for Legoland.
Food at Legoland Florida
Food options at Legoland Florida are quite limited. Most locations serve fast food like chicken sandwiches, chicken wings, and other items primarily aimed at kids. If you're looking for a better meal, you can visit the Legoland Hotel after the park closes. Another good option is to prepare sandwiches at home and bring snacks. There’s also a Publix across the street from Legoland where you can buy fresh food. However, if you enjoy fast food, Legoland has plenty of carts offering tacos, funnel cakes, turkey legs, and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Should I buy a FastPass for Legoland Florida?
Legoland Florida offers its own FastPass system to help reduce wait times. There are two options: FasTrack 3-Pack and FasTrack Unlimited. The FasTrack 3-Pack starts at $28.99 and provides one-time express access to the Coastersaurus, The Dragon, and The Great LEGO Race. FasTrack Unlimited starts at $59.99 and gives you unlimited fast access to most rides, including popular ones like Masters of Flight and Ninjago The Ride.
Honestly, you won’t need FasTrack most of the time at Legoland Florida. The longest waits are usually at Masters of Flight, Ninjago, and some roller coasters, with wait times around 40 minutes. These can be significantly reduced if you arrive early or stay late in the afternoon. FasTrack can be a worthwhile purchase during peak seasons, such as mid-summer or around Christmas.

The Best Rides at Legoland Florida
THE LEGO MOVIE Masters of Flight
Info: Guests must be at least 40″, motion simulator.
Masters of Flight is very similar to Disney World's Soarin' in Epcot. It’s a motion simulator that takes guests through scenes from both Lego Movies, using various effects to enhance the experience, like the smell of gunpowder and ash when a cannon is fired as you fly over a massive pirate battle. It’s also the first flying theater in the USA to feature a 180-degree turn at the start and end of the ride. Masters of Flight opened in 2019 and is one of the park’s most popular attractions, so be sure to make it a top priority.
LEGO Ninjago: The Ride
Info: 3D interactive motion simulator.
This is a 3D motion simulator and dark ride that older kids tend to love. The concept is simple: you board a vehicle, put on 3D glasses, and use your hands to perform various ninja signs to attack enemies displayed on a large screen in front of you. It’s similar to Hollywood Studios’ Toy Story Mania, but instead of using a controller, you use your body to throw ninja stars and other objects at the creatures. This fun, video game-style ride is a hit with grade schoolers, and it’s entertaining to watch the epic display of fireballs and the chaos on the screen while everyone laughs and has a great time.
Kid Power Towers
Info: Guests must be at least 38″, small drop tower, interactive.
This ride features a simple yet effective concept. It’s a small drop tower with a twist: you pull your own seat up to initiate the drop! Each seat accommodates two guests, and both can pull a rope to lift the seat higher and higher. Don’t worry, the drop is relatively small, and the seat descends gently rather than in a free fall. However, it’s just enough to make children scream and laugh. I’d call this one a must-ride simply because of its interactive element and how different it is from most drop towers.
The Great LEGO Race
Info: Guests must be at least 42″, roller coaster.
This is one of the best family coasters at Legoland Florida, reminiscent of The Barnstormer at Magic Kingdom but longer. It’s a wild mouse coaster, focusing primarily on sharp turns. You won’t find any loops or extreme drops here, which is great news for families with young children. The Great Lego Race previously offered the option to use a VR headset during the ride, but this option has been removed since COVID. I hope they bring it back someday, as it added a fun twist to the experience.
Mia’s Riding Adventure
Info: Guests must be at least 48″, thrill ride.
You'll notice that we consider this one of the best rides at Legoland Florida, even though we didn’t put it as a “must go” in our step-by-step guide. This is because the ride has a height requirement of 48 inches, meaning many guests might miss out. We’re including it in our Best of list because it’s a very unique attraction at Legoland and probably the most intense ride in the entire park.
Mia’s Riding Adventure features a large platform that spins slowly while swaying from side to side, with guests seated around it, creating a circular motion. Imagine a galleon swinging ship ride, but without a full loop and at a slightly slower pace... yet you’re still spinning! It offers a good thrill for older kids and might get their adrenaline pumping for rides at Hollywood Studios and Islands of Adventure.
