Did you know that there are three LEGOLAND hotels located right by the main theme park? Yes, they are the LEGOLAND Hotel, the Pirate Island Hotel, and the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat. The first two are located just across the street, while the third is about 0.2 miles away, with a free bus available to take you to the main gates whenever you wish.
All three hotels offer free breakfast, Wi-Fi, and LEGO-themed rooms - perfect for those who love building with bricks all day! These hotels are fantastic options if you're traveling with kids aged 3-9 and planning to explore LEGOLAND for more than a day.
I’d definitely recommend any of these hotels if your trip includes at least a two-day visit to LEGOLAND. For example, you might want to explore the main theme park on one day and bring your toddlers to the Peppa Pig Theme Park the next morning. Or perhaps you plan to spend a full day at the water park? Either way, these hotels are a great and fun choice.

The differences between the LEGOLAND Hotels

The Pirate Island Hotel and LEGOLAND Hotel are actually quite similar. In fact, they are essentially part of one large, connected building located across the street from the theme park, with one side called the LEGOLAND Hotel and the other side called the Pirate Island Hotel. Both hotels share the same lobby and check-in area, which is definitely surprising.
The lobby features bars and a few shows throughout the day. If you're staying at any of the LEGOLAND hotels - including the Beach Retreat - you can enjoy these amenities.
The Pirate Island Hotel has slightly newer rooms, many of which are pirate-themed. The theming is everywhere, from the walls to the kids' beds and curtains. On the Pirate Island Hotel side, you'll also find the Shipwreck Restaurant, often considered LEGOLAND's main dining venue and requiring advanced reservations.
Rooms
The Pirate Island Hotel offers three room types, while the LEGOLAND Hotel has six. Six room types might sound like a lot, but the primary difference is the theming. Some rooms are designed after pirates, princesses & knights, the Ninjago ride, and more. Notably, the Pirate Island Hotel is the only one that offers suites accommodating up to seven guests, while all other rooms sleep up to five.
All rooms include a fun scavenger hunt for kids aged 5-9. You'll find a piece of paper in your room with clues to help you find a prize hidden inside your own room. This unique touch is something you don't typically find at other hotels.
Pools

The LEGOLAND Hotel area features two pools: the main pool and the Pirate pool. Guests staying at any LEGOLAND hotel can use both pools. There is also a pool located inside LEGOLAND Beach Retreat.
Restaurants
There are also two restaurants for breakfast—both included in your stay: Shipwreck and Bricks. One serves waffles, the other serves pancakes; one has French toast, the other has biscuits. Aside from these small differences, the breakfast offerings are quite similar.
What about the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat?
LEGOLAND Beach Retreat is the least "LEGO" of the resorts. It's an open space located 0.2 miles from the theme park, filled with charming houses designed to look like they're made of LEGO. It's quieter than the LEGOLAND Hotel and Pirate Island Hotel, but most rooms only have one TV - so kids don’t get their own. This resort is better suited for adults or families with older kids.
The Beach Retreat also has its own restaurant, Sandy’s Castle, which provides free breakfast for guests, as well as an on-site pool.
In summary, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat is the quietest option, but there's more to do at the LEGOLAND Hotel and Pirate Island Hotel. These two hotels are very similar and are located just steps from the theme park, which is definitely a big plus.
The Pirate Island Hotel

- Good for: you want slightly newer rooms at LEGOLAND Florida, you don’t mind paying a little more than the LEGOLAND Hotel, you want a room that is good for up to 7 guests, you want a place that is steps away from the theme park.

- Room types: Themed Room, Themed Room with Lake View, Themed Suite.
The Pirate Island Hotel is the newest addition to the resorts at LEGOLAND Florida and is, honestly, quite similar to the original LEGOLAND Hotel. The rooms are slightly newer, with the main difference being the pirate-themed decor.
The Themed Room includes several pirate-inspired details and can accommodate up to 5 guests. The Themed Suite is slightly larger, sleeps up to 7 guests, and features a lounge area with a queen-sized pull-out sofa bed.
The LEGOLAND Hotel

- Starting price: about $219 per night.
- Room types: LEGO Ninjago Room, The LEGO Movie Room, Adventure Room, Kingdom Room, Pirate Room, Lego Friends Room.
The original LEGOLAND Hotel has rooms that are slightly cheaper than the Pirate Island Hotel. The main difference is that the LEGOLAND Hotel offers more themed rooms than the Pirate Island Hotel, but rooms that are designed for up to five guests only.
The LEGOLAND Beach Retreat

- Good for: Families traveling with slightly older kids, those seeking peace and quiet, guests who don’t mind hopping on a bus to reach the LEGOLAND theme park, and those willing to pay a little extra for a bungalow.
- Starting price: about $265 per night.
- Room type: LEGO Themed Bungalow.
The Beach Retreat is the least "LEGO" of the hotels at LEGOLAND Florida. It offers only one room type, which is ideal for families with older kids who prioritize a peaceful atmosphere above all else. While the room features some LEGO-inspired decor, it’s less themed compared to the other two hotels.
It’s important to note that the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat is a seasonal resort and closes during the winter and certain other times of the year. Despite its name, the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat only features a sandy play area for guests and does not provide access to Lake Dexter, which is located just north of the resort.
As mentioned earlier, a free shuttle is available to take guests to and from the resort and LEGOLAND Florida. The resort is conveniently located just 0.2 miles from the main gates.
