Magic has happened at Magic Kingdom
It has happened, folks.
For the first time in history, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass has sold out at Walt Disney World. More specifically, it sold out on January 31, 2025, at Magic Kingdom.
Just to keep things in perspective, Magic Kingdom typically offers the most expensive FastPass options, and the same was true this past Friday. The Premier Pass was selling for $379 per guest. The Lightning Lane Multi Pass was still available, priced at $35.
As you may know, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass is the top FastPass option at Walt Disney World. It grants one-time entry to every attraction in the park, and you don’t need to book a specific time window for it. It’s valid for attractions included in the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, as well as those not included, like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Just a few weeks ago, the Premier Pass was only available for purchase by guests staying at a Disney World hotel. Not anymore. Now, anyone can use the My Disney Experience app to buy it. When Disney announced the change, I thought it was a smart move - could market it directly on the app’s main page and maximize sales. It seems that change is already paying off.
A lot of guests doubted the Premier Pass would ever sell out. It’s expensive, and theme park trips are already costly when you factor in hotels, food, and more. It’s actually impressive that it sold out by the end of January. Can you imagine what will happen in July, or around Thanksgiving and Christmas?
