Let's pick the best rides in Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom!
C’mon, Famvia, why with the hard questions again?
Fine. This is like picking your favorite child, but someone has to do this tough job. I’m going to pick my favorite rides of Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom based on science. And by science I mean “whatever I decide is the best ride in each theme park”.
So, without further ado, let’s get this list going!
Magic Kingdom
Phew, we start out strong, and with a very hard theme park to select a favorite ride. I think that your favorite ride here will vary based on a number of factors, like whether you often visit Disney World with children, nostalgia, and the rides you find more thrilling. I could list several options, like Haunted Mansion, It’s a Small World, Jungle Cruise, and many more.
I will, however, give the gold medal to Space Mountain. I just love it. Sure, it’s not a very comfortable ride, but it’s always fun, and a great hit with kids as well. When you think about roller coasters, there is a good chance that Space Mountain comes to mind. It’s a classic, it’s long, it doesn’t have a very high height restriction, and it’s great for laughs and screams in the dark.
EPCOT
Not a very difficult choice, honestly. The gold medal goes to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, which might very well be the overall best ride at Walt Disney World. This is an excellent family coaster that manages to be fun, extremely comfortable, long, and also manages to surprise you. It’s also very charming and even has an interesting queue. Try to experience this ride as many times as you can!
I don’t think there are any competitors for Cosmic Rewind at Epcot. You could say that Test Track and Soarin’ are both great - and they are indeed very fun - but Cosmic Rewind is just way ahead.
Hollywood Studios
There is fierce competition at Hollywood Studios. This is a theme park with some amazing rides, like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, and Slinky Dog Dash. It’s hard to pick a favorite from a park packed with attractions, even if they’re mostly designed for a more adult experience.
My pick here would be Tower of Terror. That’s just an incredibly fun ride with random elements added in, a great atmosphere, and one of the best buildings in all of Disney World. This ride just keeps getting better with time, and I can’t get enough of the Rod Serling impersonator. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance gets the silver medal. It’s an amazing motion simulator and great for fans of Star Wars, but the constant breaks for maintenance count against it.
Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom has three great rides that could be considered the best in the park: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest and Avatar Flight of Passage. Most people would go with Avatar as the best ride in Animal Kingdom, and I would be okay with that. It’s a great motion simulator with amazing visuals, and being relatively new is also nice.
My top choice for the best ride in the park is a tie between Avatar Flight of Passage and Expedition Everest. I just love Everest! It’s such a fun family coaster with a great setup, a fun backwards launch, and one of the best drops in Disney World. Kilimanjaro Safaris is also pretty good, even though your experience can sometimes feel random. You need a bit of luck to spot some of the animals, and riding it after noon can occasionally be a letdown. Still, it’s the most classic attraction in the whole theme park, and I absolutely love it.
