Disney World in Q4
by Sonya Hernandez
The year is almost over, and the last few months of 2024 might be the best time yet to visit the Happiest Place on Earth. Here are FIVE reasons why you should consider booking your next Disney trip before we turn our attention to 2025:
1 - Weather
Florida experiences two seasons – wet and dry. The dry season starts October 15th. What does this mean? Less heat and less rain. Floridian’s graciously welcome cooler temps in the months of October, November and December. Most weeks you will find the temperature reaching low 80s during the day while dipping down to the mid-60s in the early mornings and late evenings. In addition, most days show sunny forecasts with little to no rain.
2 - Crowds

If you choose to visit the parks on a week without a holiday – you are in luck! Crowd levels are very low during this season. Lines are shorter with a better chance of you riding your favorite ride. Dining reservations are easier to make and the overall hustle and bustle is a little more relaxed. Best weeks to travel to the parks are the first week of November and the first week of December! Thanksgiving crowds will start arriving on Friday, November 22, 2024 and continue for the week that follows. The week leading up to Christmas will show another surge in crowds usually lasting until the end of the year. Try to avoid the parks those weeks!
3 - Savings
Walt Disney World always has the best savings at the end of the year. Right now, Florida residents can save up to 30% on rooms & annual pass holders can save up to 35% on rooms. These are HUGE savings if you prefer the luxury and ease of staying at the beautiful Disney resorts.
4 - Decorations

Halloween decorations are up for the entire month of October. November 12th marks the day when decorations transition to Christmas. But you must find time to visit the resorts during your trip. Breathtaking resort inspired Christmas trees can be found at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge & Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
5 - Festive Happenings
There is always so much to do when visiting Walt Disney World! See below for fun and festive events you and your family will enjoy when you visit in October, November or December.
Other spots to find gingerbread displays on Disney property include:
- Disney's Contemporary Resort: A gingerbread castle can be found on the 4th floor of the resort from November 10 through January 6.
- Disneyland Park: A gingerbread display inspired by Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas will be in the Haunted Mansion attraction.
- Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge: A gingerbread display will be in the lobby of Jambo House.
- Grand Floridian Resort and Spa: A gingerbread house and holiday sweets will be in the resort lobby.
- Disney Cruise Line: Each ship has gingerbread creations in the atrium with themes decided by the pastry chefs on each ship!
Create magical memories with your loved ones before this year comes to a close. We all could use some extra dose of pixie dust with Mickey and all their friends, right?
