Disney's Storyliving reveals its latest adventure, Asteria, a residential community set to add a little bit of magic to North Carolina with the beauty of discovery and lifelong learning. Settled in Chatham County, near Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, Asteria is designed to blend the essence of Disney magic with the spirit of exploration. Judging by that image above, I already want to live there.
Inspiration and Vision
In collaboration with Disney Imagineers and DMB Development, the Asteria community draws inspiration from Walt Disney's enduring curiosity. Walt once expressed, "We keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things because we’re curious,". This community aspires to be a campus of discovery, fostering growth, learning, and connections among its future residents.
Adventure is Out There
Asteria marks Disney's first foray into the East Coast, occupying approximately 1,500 acres in Chatham County. The landscape, a canvas for Disney Imagineers, will seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor living. With neighborhood parks, walking trails, and biking paths, residents will immerse themselves in the natural beauty of North Carolina.
The community's name, Asteria, pays homage to the state's native aster flower, symbolizing the connection between Earth and sky in Greek mythology.
Life-Long Learning
Asteria's residents will be part of an exclusive club offering amenities designed to ignite curiosity. From a wellness and recreation center to community gardens, swimming pools, and more, this club will be a hub for learning and connecting. Disney's touch will be evident in enrichment programs, including family fun days, storytelling dinners, and classes with Disney artists.
Starting a New Story
The Asteria community promises a NEW lifestyle with diverse home styles and over 4,000 residential units, including homes designated for 55+ adults, Asteria will be a beautiful addition to Pittsboro. Ideally situated near Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Durham, residents can enjoy the perks of big city facilities in a small town.

In the early stages of planning, Asteria is set to begin constructions soon, with sales expected to launch in 2027. Asteria follows the Cotino community in Rancho Mirage, California, as the second announced Storyliving by the Disney community in the U.S.
