A Valiant effort
Have you ever checked our review for the Scarlet Lady?
Tl;Dr: that ship is awesome. And guess what? The Valiant Lady is also pretty awesome, and there is a very simple reason for that: the Valiant Lady and the Scarlet Lady are very, very similar. How similar, you might ask? Well, they have the exact same size, the same number of cabins and also the same restaurants. The difference is mainly related to the overall atmosphere, shows and a few updates here and there.
The Valiant Lady is just as great as the Scarlet Lady, and has some of the same amazing perks you expect from every ship in the company. Free basic Wi-Fi? Check. Included gratuities? Check. Awesome, edgy style? Double check. The Valiant Lady is based in Europe, more specifically in Barcelona. It offers a lot of itineraries around Europe, but it also comes to the Caribbean and the USA from time to time.
What we like about the Valiant Lady

What’s not to like about this ship? This is another great ship that offers amazing entertainment options for adults. Scarlet Night and the PJ Party rank amongst some of the best parties in an adult cruise line, and you can find those in the Valiant Lady as well. You can also go to The Manor, one of the best nightclubs on the high seas, to dance with the love of your life… or maybe find the love of your life right there. You never know what might happen!
The restaurants also rank among the best across all cruise lines. As I mentioned in my Scarlet Lady review, every restaurant aboard Virgin Voyages is complimentary to guests, though a few menu items may incur an extra charge. Even if you don’t pay extra, you have access to some amazing dining options, including Extra Virgin and Test Kitchen.
The ship also looks gorgeous, much like the other two ships in the fleet. There are no swings inside Valiant Lady - which are a great touch on Scarlet—and the indoor sculptures and artworks differ slightly as well. The shops also vary a bit, with Valiant offering more options for perfumes and cosmetics. You know what’s a good change, though? Valiant Lady has rooms with more storage space, which is often a minor issue on Scarlet.
The biggest difference between the Virgin Voyages ships (aside from itineraries) is the variety of shows available onboard. Sure, shows may change from time to time, and some do repeat, but for now, Valiant Lady offers exclusive entertainment options like It’s A Ship Show and Miss Behave. The Miss Behave show receives amazing reviews. It’s an interactive game show that doesn’t take itself too seriously and guarantees a great time.
What we don’t like about the Valiant Lady

They took away the indoor swings, man! C’mon…
Oh well, there's not much to dislike about the Valiant Lady. This ship is one year newer than Scarlet and corrected some small issues from Virgin’s first-ever ship, particularly regarding storage space inside the rooms. On the other hand, it removed the awesome indoor swings, which were so stylish and cozy. C’mon, Virgin!
However, there are two downsides present on both Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady. The first is the tiny pools. Valiant Lady has two pools: a main one and a secondary one called the Well-Being Pool, which is just an oversized whirlpool. The second issue is the lack of a buffet onboard, so you can’t quickly grab a pizza or a hamburger and head back to the pool.
These are all minor issues that don’t detract from the fact that the Valiant Lady is a big success. While similar to the Scarlet Lady, this ship has made some updates that improve the experience. The shows onboard the Valiant Lady are generally better, and the extra storage space in the rooms is a welcome addition. Overall, this is a great ship and further proves that Virgin Voyages is one of the best adults-only cruise lines out there - if not the gold medal winner.
