The familly gets bigger and Virgin Voyages keeps getting better and better
We here at Famvia love Virgin Voyages. The main reason? Their ship names are always awesome: Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, and now Resilient Lady. Okay, it’s not just that - they also offer some of the best restaurants on the high seas, don’t have a dress code, and include a lot of great features in your cruise fare, like gratuities and basic Wi-Fi. They’re edgy, they’re fun, and they’re also one of the best cruise lines for adults over 30.
The Resilient Lady launched in 2023, and you know what? It is a pretty similar ship to the Scarlet Lady, which is already the same design as the 2022’s Valiant Lady. All three ships have the same number of cabins, the same length and the same tonnage. It looks like Virgin Voyages copy pasted their homework three times in a row, which isn’t bad news at all in a case like this one.
The Resilient Lady is based in Athens, Europe, but it occasionally makes its way to the Caribbean for a nice tan. It features the same restaurants and many of the same venues as its two older sisters, but there are some aesthetic differences and a few extra touches that set it apart. Let’s check it out.
What we like about the Resilient Lady

There’s a lot to like about this Lady and, to be honest, about Virgin Voyages in general. One thing I always love to mention is that Virgin has some of the best restaurants across all cruise ships, and it’s no different with the Resilient Lady. You’ll find fan favorites like Test Kitchen, Gunbae, Pink Agave, and more. The food is definitely a step above and is considered by many to be some of the best cruise cuisine ever.
The Resilient Lady is also home to some of the best parties you’ll find on vacation. We’re talking about Scarlet Night and the PJ Party, which have basically become trademarks of Virgin Voyages. Whether you’re looking to have a great time with the love of your life, or maybe find your partner for life, it might be time to dress in red or slip into your favorite cozy pajamas and enjoy these awesome parties.
If there’s one area where the Resilient Lady truly stands apart from the Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady, it’s the shows. The entertainment options on the Resilient are a step above those found on her older sisters, which says a lot, considering even the Scarlet Lady features some incredible performances. However, the Resilient Lady boasts top-notch productions you won’t find anywhere else, regarded as some of the most unique shows ever staged on a cruise line. Don’t miss must-see performances like Another Rose and Persephone.
Guests often say that the service onboard the Resilient Lady is even better than what’s offered on the Scarlet and Valiant Lady. There could be a reason for that. Since this is the newest ship, it’s likely that staff members have rotated from the Scarlet to the Valiant, and now to the Resilient, ensuring guests receive the best service aboard a brand-new ship. The crew always seems a bit more experienced and efficient on this cruise.
What we don’t like about the Resilient Lady

One issue with the Resilient Lady, which has been present on Virgin Voyages ships since the Scarlet Lady debuted in 2021, is that the standard rooms could be better. I don’t find the beds particularly comfortable, especially since they’re essentially sofa-beds that can be rearranged into either two singles or a queen. While there’s a bit more storage space compared to the Scarlet Lady, the bathrooms are still incredibly small and difficult to move around in. I suppose this stems from all three ships sharing the same design, and I hope Virgin Voyages addresses this in the future.
The pools on the Resilient Lady are still a bit small. There are two pools: the Well-Being pool, which is essentially a large whirlpool, and the main pool. The main pool isn’t very big either, although the one on the Resilient Lady is slightly deeper compared to its older sisters. This is another area where Virgin Voyages could improve, and it’s something to keep in mind for the future.
So, is the Resilient Lady still awesome? Absolutely. I’m pleased to see that Virgin is improving their shows, and the Resilient Lady offers some of the best entertainment options for adults across all cruise lines. If they can enhance the standard rooms and improve the pools, these ladies will surely be unstoppable.
