A free cruise? A free cabin upgrade? Discounts on drink packages and Wi-Fi? This awesome loyalty program has it all
Welcome to Norwegian Cruise Line’s Loyalty Program, which might be one of the most complex and wonderful in the whole cruise industry. Not only do they offer a wide variety of perks, but Latitudes Rewards features 7 (yep, SEVEN!) different tiers for guests, with some great perks introduced when the program got revamped in 2022. You start at the Bronze tier and, much like a level from a fun videogame, you need to climb through each tier until you reach the top level - Ambassador - at 700 points.
How do you earn points, you may ask? You earn one point per night sailed, with an additional point if you book a suite or a room at The Haven. You can also earn an extra point if you book your cruise through certain special offers. As you can see, it might take a while to reach the Ambassador level, but I’m happy to say that Norwegian offers some of the best perks in the cruise industry, making the journey well worth it.
Here are all the latitudes Rewards tiers, with some benefits included in each one of them:
- Bronze (1 point): drink packages discounts
- Silver (20 points): shore excursion discounts
- Gold (45 points): 50% discount on one bag of laundry, priority disembarkation.
- Platinum (75 points): Provides priority embarkation and disembarkation, one free specialty restaurant dining experience, one free bag of laundry and more.
- Sapphire (150 points): priority seating for some restaurants and shows.
- Diamond (350 points): free cabin upgrade in some cases.
- Ambassador (700 points): one free 7-Day cruise.
What we like about the Latitudes Rewards loyalty program

There’s a lot to like about this program, especially since Latitudes Rewards is one of the most robust loyalty programs out there. You even get some good perks at the early levels, which is uncommon in the cruise industry. For example, Bronze members receive a 30% discount on the unlimited open bar package, which can save you a lot of money if you enjoy beers and cocktails, especially on longer cruises. This discount increases to 40% at the Silver tier, where you also get a 15% discount on shore excursions. There’s always something to look forward to as you climb the ranks, all the way to the coveted Ambassador tier.
Things get much better at the Platinum tier, where you receive one free bag of laundry per cruise, priority embarkation, a 15% discount on internet packages, two free dinners at top specialty restaurants on any voyage of five nights or longer, and more. The Platinum tier alone surpasses the top tiers of many other cruise line loyalty programs, and it's only the fourth out of seven tiers!

Sapphire also gives you some good perks, like priority seating for shows and a dinner with the officials, and the diamond level gives you access to a complimentary Sail & Sustain Mixology experience and also a one-time free cabin upgrade. Yep, one time, which means that you get it as a single reward once you reach the diamond level. The cabin upgrade, however, is not eligible for Suites or The Haven.
The best perk comes when you reach the Ambassador tier: a one-time complimentary seven-night cruise in a balcony cabin for two. You can choose any destination, but holiday cruises are excluded from this promotion. This is an excellent reward to cap off your journey from the Bronze level all the way to Ambassador. Congratulations! You also receive a one-time “mysterious” gift. Spoiler alert: it’s a set of carry-on luggage.
What we don’t like about the Latitudes Rewards loyalty program

There isn’t much to dislike about this, honestly. I’d certainly say that the Latitudes Rewards is one of the best loyalty programs in the cruise industry. Some might think that it's a letdown that they don't offer a status match program, but I don’t think Norwegian would offer a free cruise and other amazing perks if they also had a status match program.
Maybe another drawback to this program is that it has too many tiers, and it might be hard for some guests to understand it or keep track of it. That’s why we are here, friends, and let me tell you that each tier has a great reward waiting for you. I do love that Norwegian basically covers every area when it comes to a good loyalty program, from discounts to Wi-Fi and drink packages, to a one time cabin upgrade and also a free cruise. That’s a pretty good way to keep guests coming back.
