There are 44 different cruises planned for Alaska from now until 2026, ranging from 5-8 night cruises to longer 20-night itineraries that include stops in both Hawaii and Alaska, and even cruises that extend all the way to Japan. Norwegian Cruise Line is certainly a top choice for Alaska, offering a wide variety of unique itineraries. While cruises to Alaska are generally not cheap, the destination is becoming increasingly popular over time. Keep in mind that the Alaskan cruise season is relatively short, running from April to late October, so it’s always a good idea to book in advance.

Hawaii

Main destinations: Honolulu, Kahului, Kona

Hawaii is a very popular destination for Norwegian Cruise Line. Not only do they offer exclusive cruises departing from Honolulu that explore the entire Hawaiian Islands, but many cruises also visit both Hawaii and Alaska, with some even extending all the way to Japan. The Pride of America operates exclusively in Hawaii, a unique feature among cruise lines. If you plan to visit Hawaii, be sure to reserve a spot aboard the Pride of America to fully experience this beautiful paradise.

Caribbean & Bahamas

Main destinations: St. Thomas, Puerto Plata, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Curacao, Great Stirrup Cay.

Almost every cruise line includes trips to the Caribbean and the Bahamas, and Norwegian Cruise Line is no exception. There are over a hundred Caribbean cruises planned from now until 2026, including trips aboard their newest ships like the Norwegian Prima, Viva, and the upcoming Norwegian Aqua.

When sailing to the Caribbean from the United States, Norwegian ships generally depart from Miami, Port Canaveral, and Tampa in Florida, as well as Baltimore, Galveston, New Orleans, and New York City.

Great Stirrup Cay

Great Stirrup Cay is Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island in the Bahamas, covering 268 acres within the Berry Islands. It offers a beautiful beach with warm, calm waters, a complimentary buffet lunch, and a bar with paid cocktails. Plus, your Drink Package is valid on the island!

While Great Stirrup Cay isn’t as large as Royal Caribbean’s CocoCay, it’s a great place to relax. You’ll find various activities, with the popular zipline being a highlight - it crosses the entire island and offers stunning views. The island also features a spa and excellent snorkeling spots.

There is no dock at Great Stirrup Cay, so guests take a short tender ride from the ship to the island. Note that there are no pools, water slides, or playgrounds on the island. It’s definitely geared towards a more adult crowd, whereas Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line have private islands that are more oriented towards kids and families.

Europe

Options range from a short 4-day cruise from Barcelona that visits Florence and Cannes to an 18-night cruise departing from Rome and visiting France, Portugal, and Spain.

In Europe, most NCL ships sail from:

  • Amsterdam
  • Barcelona
  • Copenhagen
  • Istanbul

Staring price per guest for a 14-Day Transatlantic from Miami to Southampton aboard the Norwegian Encore in November 2024: $1500

With so many cruise ships and diverse itineraries, it’s no surprise that Norwegian Cruise Line offers a wide range of transatlantic cruises. They feature 23 different transatlantic adventures from now until 2026, which is more than most cruise lines. From the USA, current transatlantics depart from New York or Miami, while in Europe, most sail from Barcelona, Rome, and Lisbon.

Remember that transatlantic cruises are one-way trips. They are often more affordable compared to other cruise lines. Norwegian offers many transatlantic cruises to reposition their fleet, whether or not guests are onboard. This contributes to the lower prices, especially if you book in advance.
