This garden is great, even if it could use a little more pixie dust
If there is one thing that Disney Cruise Line does well is to give us excellent dining choices. Be it places that offer amazing food like Palo, or a great show like Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, each restaurant has a specific trait that makes them so beloved by guests worldwide. Things are a little bit different with Enchanted Garden, though. This is an old time restaurant available on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, that doesn’t offer any show and has a pretty standard menu that could use something new to spice it up.
Don’t get me wrong, this restaurant is indeed beautiful, based on the gardens of Versailles. It’s colorful and has plants everywhere, but I do wish that it had something else to set it apart from a traditional restaurant you’d find on land. Everything here is mostly okay, from the food to your dining experience, and that might be fine for most guests.
What we like about Enchanted Garden
The best aspect of Enchanted Garden, at least for me, is the atmosphere. It might be the most beautiful restaurant aboard a ship like the Disney Dream. The setting truly feels like a fantasy world, with lush plants, beautiful fountains, and even a few Mickey Mouse sculptures. The entire restaurant is inviting and picturesque, which is definitely a plus.
A unique feature is the changing lighting throughout your meal. The lights start bright and gradually dim as your meal progresses, eventually blinking to simulate stars at the end, creating the illusion that you’ve spent a full day there.
The food is definitely good, but could use a little more unique options. The Tomato Soup with Sour Cream is a highlight, as is the lobster ravioli and the roasted pork tenderloin. The Caramelized Sea Scallops also get amazing reviews and guests often consider this one the best dish in the whole restaurant.
Another thumbs up is that Enchanted Garden is open for breakfast and also offers a lunch buffet. This is great news, providing an alternative to the traditional buffet, which can sometimes become very crowded.
What we didn’t like about Enchanted Garden
One of the main disadvantages of Enchanted Garden is that it isn’t very memorable. While the location is stunning, I’d love to see something more to distinguish it from other restaurants. Imagine if it were themed around something like Alice in Wonderland. A restaurant based on Alice’s world could be amazing, with a whimsical menu and plenty of Easter eggs to discover!
Another major disadvantage is that the restaurant can feel a bit cramped. The tables are close together, and moving around can be difficult at times. This layout can make the space feel less intimate, which is important in an atmosphere that aims to exude elegance and sophistication.
