Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars

Terra Luna Resort has just opened its doors this week and is as excited as we are to welcome guests to Epic Universe. That’s the main objective of this hotel and its older sister, Stella Nova Resort: to be big and imposing, comfortable, and conveniently located near Epic Universe to accommodate the (huge) influx of guests visiting the new park in the coming years.

Terra Luna Resort is extremely similar to Stella Nova Resort, by the way. They are located directly across from each other and offer similar rates. In this aspect, they are somewhat like the Endless Summer Resorts.

Ultimately, there’s not much that differentiates them. Both feature 315-square-foot rooms that accommodate up to four guests, a Universal Studios Store, a few small quick-service restaurants, and basic resort pools. The main difference? That depends if you prefer to stay closer to the moon at Terra Luna Resort or nearer to the sun at Stella Nova Resort.

What We Like About Terra Luna Resort

Let’s be honest… the best perk of this hotel is its walking distance to Epic Universe. In fact, this is one of the few Universal hotels with a dedicated walking path that connects directly to the park’s entrance. While no one knows the exact walking time yet, rumors suggest it will take around 15 minutes. Not bad, considering that parking at Epic Universe is expected to be chaotic during its initial months… or even years.

Another major advantage is the price. Both Terra Luna and Stella Nova Resort are Prime Value Hotels, with rates starting as low as $215 per night, depending on the time of year. My biggest tip? If you’re planning a trip to Epic Universe, book your stay as soon as possible. Prices are likely to rise once the park opens and more guests become aware of these hotels, driving up demand.

One more thing we love about Terra Luna Resort? It’s brand new! There’s just something special about staying in a freshly opened hotel, where everything in your room just works, the entire space smells clean and fresh, and the lobby looks absolutely pristine. *Chef’s kiss*.

Since this is a Universal hotel, you also get some great perks at the theme parks. Guests can enter the parks one hour before the general public and enjoy complimentary bus service to Universal CityWalk, providing easy access to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Keep in mind that the early entry perk is not yet available for Epic Universe. However, once it is, you can bet Terra Luna Resort will become even more popular!

What we don’t like about Terra Luna Resort

Terra Luna Resort isn’t about luxury, period. It’s designed to be comfortable, provide a place to sleep, and offer a convenient walking path to Epic Universe. Room options are very limited. There are no family suites or anything labeled as “deluxe.” The only variations are accessibility rooms and pool-view rooms, but these are essentially the same as all the others.

Another minor drawback is the same one found at Stella Nova Resort, so we’ll repeat what we said in our previous review: this is a large hotel with a lot of rooms, so some noise is inevitable. During the first week, you can definitely hear doors slamming and kids running in the hallways. This is typical for a hotel of this size, especially a brand-new one that’s only going to get busier in the coming months. If peace and quiet are your top priorities, this might not be the best choice for you.
