The Bourne Stuntacular: everything you need to know
In an era where live entertainment often takes a backseat, Universal Orlando Resort made a bold move at the beginning of the 2020s with the introduction of a new stage production: "The Bourne Stuntacular." We haven’t seen something like this since 1999 with Seven Voyages of Sindbad and the Terminator live show, so this production marks a significant moment to advance technology in theme park shows.
Let me tell you up front: this is one of the best shows in Universal Orlando... and also in Walt Disney World, if we want to include Mickey Mouse & friends.
Let's get started
The waiting area for "The Bourne Stuntacular" is not fancy, and guests aren't supposed to stay there long. There are some posters that remind guests about the Bourne movies and Jason Bourne's story before the show starts. Oh, and Matt Damon. Remember him? Ahhh, still so young, playing Jason Bourne in 2002's The Bourne Identity.
The Preshow
The preshow features Julia Stiles in her role of Nicky Parsons. As part of a "situation analysis team," guests learn about Bourne's backstory of false identity, government operatives, and betrayal.
The Show
Unlike other screen-heavy attractions, "The Bourne Stuntacular" integrates screens and acotrs very well. With a larger theater than its predecessor, T2: 3-D, the show takes audiences to Morocco and Dubai, featuring dynamic battles and high-speed chases.
Obviously, some elements may seem familiar to theme park fans, so the show's choreography and technological effects elevate the experience. You will be fascinated with the seamless transitions between physical sets and screen footage. I can only imagine how hard it is for actors to interact with something on the screen behind them, which doesn't stop or wait for them, as they need to be in the right place at the right time always.

We don't want to spoil too much, but come here next time you visit Universal Studios. Make sure to select a time slot that works for you, since The Bourne Suntacular only takes place about three times per day. There are so many amazing moments, from slow-mo segments to firefights and also fist fights. It's a joy!
