And no, it's not because Epic Universe already opened its gates and has a space dedicated entirely to Nintendo. The reason behind this merging of the real and the virtual world is... is Minecraft!
Minecraft x Universal has arrived
Minecraft has become one of the most popular games of all time. Players love it for many reasons, but the main one is that you can just let your imagination fly without any boundaries. It's similar to a virtual Lego, where you can build basically anything. People have created entire cities there in the past, and even Jurassic Park!
The video game allows players to go all out in terms of creativity and self-expression, thanks to the many tools that are handed to create as many virtual worlds as you wish, and all this thanks to one key element… blocks!
Yep. As we said, think of it as if LEGOLAND became virtual and now lives in your videogame. Okay, why am I telling you all of this? Well, this popular video game has announced that there is a very exciting world coming up soon in form of a Downloadable Content (DLC).
Yep, that’s right, Universal Studios will have a world inside Minecraft, allowing guests to explore it like never before. This new Universal Studios Experience DCL will be showing many different rides and lands like Jurassic Park, Skull Island, Revenge of the Mummy and much more.
It's important to say that this is not the first time these major companies have crossed paths. Going back to last year, there was a limited-time New Year’s event taking place where the highlight of the show was Universal’s World Famous Studio Tour. Fans enjoyed it so much, and we are sure this year will be no exception.
What else to expect?
When guests embark in this cyberspace, expect to encounter different rides that simulate real rides and attractions that we are used to. From the moment they venture past the gates, they can explore a virutal world almost identical to Universal Studios. Guests will even see Woody Woodpecker, who will greet them and entrust them with a very special mission.
You can also get the chance to encounter many characters that will be waiting to say hi to you, from Dracula to Shrek, E.T. and King Kong!
What an experience, right? Guests will also get to explore many rides, minigames, and even shops (they are quite cool, we have to admit). It's a Universal journey like no other and you cannot miss it.
Hey, and don’t be surprised if you spot any ride that is nonexistent in the real world right now. Because there is a huge possibility that this virtual world will include them too, after all, this is a place where everything is possible even, having those dear rides back, right (I am looking at you, Back to the Future).
