Is The Cat in the Hat actually a horror ride?
You would never believe how fun this hiddem gem located in Islands of Adventure is until you try it out. This one is perfect for the little ones, a dark ride that takes you through different scenes from the classic Dr.Seuss stories.
Some of of the sections might be a bit scary because they look pretty weird, but at least we can say that this is an unusual and very original ride.
Let’s get into details:
Universal did a good job overall. This ride tells a story based on the many works by Dr.Seuss, while guests sit on vehicles that resemble “couches” and go through 18 different sets filled with animatronics.
Of course, Thing 1 and Thing 2 appear there as well, as the goldfish who tries to maintain order amid bedlam but the entire mess is going to be gone before mom gets home!
The audio is clear and each scene is perfectly well done, showing the kind of crazy furniture and bizarre housewares that you can also find in the book. Your kids will probably be mesmerized during the entire ride.
The ride is perfect for your toddlers, since its very colorful and features crazy characters that will catch their attention. The animatronics are a little bit old at this point, since this ride is a few decades old, but they still get the job done. I mean, toddlers won't mind that the animatronics aren't at the same level as Animal Kingdom's Na'vi River Journey.
