Staying at Universal in 2025
Epic Universe, portals everywhere leading to new lands, many worlds colliding everywhere... 2025 is shaping up to be an unforgettable year at Universal Orlando Resort. The announcement of this new era where different universes are there for you to be explored has left us with a rush of excitement we haven't felt in ages.
But... do you know what else excites us as well? The upcoming opening of brand-new hotels in early 2025. After a day of hopping through portals at the parks, it's essential to have fresh places to recharge, don't you agree?
Two out-of-this-world resorts
Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort are the new exciting additions that will join the extensive line of Universal’s hotels. Each of them, as you can infer from their names, is inspired by the planets and celestial galaxies that are part of the (Epic) universe.
These 750-room hotels are like sisters, closely related yet distinctly unique in their own right.
The concept
According to Russ Dagon, Senior Vice President for Resort Development with Universal; “We wanted to try to capture that magical experience of space. It was really about the aura and the mystery of it all.” And I love the concept, but if I'm being honest, I’m not a big fan of the exterior designs for them.
I just find them quite ordinary. Don't get me wrong, they're okay. But I hoped for more variety in the building shapes and more creativity in the exterior design. Maybe they aimed for a futuristic look, but it feels a bit "meh" to me. I understand they need to fit in with the other Universal hotels, but I was hoping for a more surprising design.
Perhaps seeing them in person will give me a better appreciation for their colors and size, and they might impress me more then. But for now, they're not quite giving me that "wow" factor I was expecting. Let me know if I'm the only one who feels this way. Whoops!
The interior
Stella Nova Resort, drawing inspiration from the stars and celestial bodies, promises to whisk you away on a galactic adventure from the moment you set foot in the lobby. Expect a cavernous space adorned with oversized images of the galaxy's mesmerizing elements. Here's hoping they deliver a truly impressive experience!
On the flip side, Terra Luna Resort delves deeper into the terrestrial realm, guiding you from the lobby to a captivating projection of the planet itself.
When can I visit?
Make sure to explore the new place firsthand or ensure its true impressiveness by experiencing the new facilities opened to the public. Mark your calendars for January 21 at Universal Stella Nova Resort for an out-of-this-world adventure, followed by a return to Earth on February 25, 2025, at Universal Terra Luna Resort.
I get what you might be thinking. Epic Universe won't be open until late 2025. But don't worry, you can still enjoy this exciting experience while taking advantage of the perks offered by Universal hotels. You'll have easy access to transport between the different parks at Universal Orlando, from Universal Volcano Bay to Universal Studios Florida. Sounds fantastic, doesn't it?
Overall it gives us hope for the next statement from Russ; “If you see it during the day — depending on the day and the lighting — it’s a different experience.” Hopefully, it will be the most intergalactic sleeping experience ever.
