How Charming is this ride actually?
Spoiler: It’s a 9/10 on the Charming scale.
We have a difficult task, folks. We have to review a carousel! Well, a “carrousel” with two “r”, I always get it wrong. Disney uses the french spelling for the word, since Cinderella is based on a french fairy tale. Cool, huh?
This isn’t any carousel, by the way. This is a regal one, located inside Magic Kingdom, also known as the Happiest Place on Earth. If there is one carousel in the whole world that you need to visit, you can be sure that it’s this one.
This is a ride in Magic Kingdom that dates back to 1971, based on Cinderella, where you can ride magnificent white stallions and snap some of the prettiest pictures ever. This is the ultimate traditional theme park attraction, alongside ferris wheels and roller coasters. Now you can join Prince Charming and enjoy a cozy time alongside royalty, and your little ones are welcome to the party.
The Good
This is one of the few carousels in the world where you can sit down, relax and enjoy Disney music while slowly spinning around. The ride itself takes two whole minutes, which is actually more than aerial carousels like The Magic Carpets of Aladdin and Astro Orbiter. This is the perfect place to bring your kids and take pictures. Or, you know, young adults that are bringing their date to enjoy a romantic moment. Yeah, this ride should definitely be part of your itinerary depending on who is accompanying you in Walt Disney World.
You could also come here just to see one of the original Magic Kingdom rides. This carousel is, after all, older than a lot of guests that come to Disney. While it's been updated over the years, you can still spot some of the original designs and artwork at the top of the ride, which adds to its nostalgic charm.

As you’d expect from Disney rides, the horses are beautifully crafted and very colorful, all made of wood that gracefully go up and down throughout the 2-minute journey. There are a total of 90 horses, and there is even a rumor that a single horse with a gold ribbon on its tail belongs to Princess Cinderella. You can also find a few benches on the outside for families to sit down and enjoy the ride.
Will Kids enjoy it?
This is a classic and fun carousel, which is a great option for toddlers, young children and parents. You know the drill by now, right? You choose your favorite horse, climb on it and spin around a little while creating beautiful new memories. It’s the perfect ride for families, especially when you are in Magic Kingdom. You can’t go wrong with it.
