Mickey is ready to welcome you at the start of the year
by Sonya Hernandez
The hustle and bustle of the holidays has begun! Shopping, parties, delicious recipes, shows and school events. And while this time of year is joyful and merry – we also know it comes with the inevitable let down. That’s right, the post-holiday blues that creep up in January. Well, I have a tip on how to dodge that dark cloud…
A Disney trip!
Yep, one of my favorite holiday gifts to share with my family is a Disney trip to kick off the year right! So, let’s take a look at why traveling to Walt Disney World at the start of the year is such a great idea.
Low crowds, good prices, festivals - oh my!
First off, crowd levels are historically low in January and February. Most visitors have already come to see the holiday decorations and experience the festive cheer. Now, those same guests are back at school, back to work, and back to reality. But not you, my friend! You’ve got a magical trip to look forward to!
Did you know that January is one of the cheapest times of year to go to Disney? Florida Residents can save up to 30% on select rooms in early 2025. Annual Passholders can save up to 35% on select rooms in early 2025. And any guest can save up to $200 per night on a 3-Night, 2-Day Room-and-Ticket Package at select Disney resort hotels! WOW!
Another bonus when traveling to Disney this time of year is the beautiful weather. The temperatures are mild, and humidity is low. It is the dry season in Florida, which means little to no rain. There is nothing better than running around the parks with a cool breeze in the air… a breeze that is thankfully not coming from your battery-operated fan!
Figment is also waiting for you
Lastly, one of my favorite parts of Disney this time of year is the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. This event takes place from January 17 to February 24, 2025. Discover colorful artwork, entertainment, and cuisine all in one spot. Walking around EPCOT, guests will be able to see artistry in action and can leave their own artistic touch at various hands-on art stations.
If you are more of the sit back and enjoy type, Disney offers performances from Art Defying Gravity and the Disney on Broadway concert series! But the food – that is the true masterpiece. While traveling the park, guests have a choice of delicious delicacies and savory bites at each culinary food studio.
