We have been following the latest steps when it comes to the upcoming Disney attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and there has been a new key piece that will catch your attention during your next Disney visit.
Is the attraction taking shape?
Yes, this anticipated attraction that will be bringing New Orleans' essence to Disney Parks has been experiencing major progress (like the painted mural advances), allowing every Disney guest that passes by to imagine a more clear picture of what the final ride will look like.
Last week, Disney announced the incorporation of a key piece that could be considered the cherry on top of the attraction and is a statement of one of the high points of the entire place.
Experts in charge
Darryl Reeves, Louisiana’s 3rd generation master blacksmith and Vietnam veteran, took the important task of handcrafting a custom weathervane that has been incorporated into the attraction’s structure (right at the top).
Disney couldn’t have chosen better, with his 50 years of experience in the art of molding metal, Darryl was the right person for such a remarkable ornament.
In Darryl’s words, the experience of being designated with an important task like this was an honor; “To have a free hand to design and fabricate the weathervane for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure…that’s an honor.” What an inspiration and legacy he has been spreading throughout his journey, it certainly is impressive!
What makes this piece so special?
With the help of his trainee, Karina Roca, they have incorporated ancient methods and some gentle African touches that make this piece a unique addition to the new attraction. It's pure art in all its aspects, truly breathtaking.
For Walt Disney Imagineering, it's important that future guests are immersed in an authentic New Orleans experience ,and the decoration and structural design are key to making this possible. We cannot contain ourselves to finally see the outcome of this long-awaited project, we are sure it will be magical!
