It looks like Disney is gearing up for a busy year in 2025
That’s right, folks. We already know about the expansion plans for Magic Kingdom, including Cars Land and a brand-new Villains-themed area, but Hollywood Studios is also getting some love. Along with the new Monsters Inc. suspended roller coaster announced for sometime in 2026, a Villains-themed show is set to debut on Sunset Boulevard this year.
The show, called Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, will replace Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy, which, let’s be honest, was pretty underwhelming. I imagine the new show will incorporate some elements from the previous Cars attraction, especially with the three mini-stages, where we can expect some highly realistic animatronics to appear.
The story will center around the Magic Mirror as it summons villains like Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent, who interact with the crowd and explain how misunderstood they are. C’mon, Cruella, I’m really looking forward to hearing your justification for being mean to over a hundred dalmatians. I’m waiting.

If you’ve ever been to Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, you know the theater isn’t very large, but it’s cozy and features several mini-stages along with a big screen in the background. I expect most of the story will take place there, and Disney has also promised musical numbers featuring some of our favorite villains.
Can we have Scar in the mix? We all know “Be Prepared” is one of Disney’s best songs, and I’d love to hear a remix where other villains join the big bad lion to sing it. Or maybe it’s time for Jar Jar Binks to finally make his debut at Hollywood Studios, after being left out of Galaxy’s Edge? Perhaps he could fulfill the fan theories, transform into Darth Jar Jar Binks, and become the greatest villain of them all.
