A change in presidency at Magic Kingdom as well
The Hall of Presidents is currently closed for refurbishment and will be open pretty soon. This attraction at Magic Kingdom debuted back in 1971 and, as the name implies, features animatronics of U.S. presidents, from George Washington all the way to… yes, Donald Trump. As of January 20, 2025, Trump is officially the president of the United States, so let’s hope he has a successful and good presidency.
The attraction is closed for a simple reason: the Trump animatronic is being moved back to the main stage, and the Joe Biden animatronic will be relocated elsewhere. Disney didn’t provide further details, only stating that the change is due to animatronic replacements, but it’s an easy one to understand.
In the past, there used to be a sign saying, “being prepared to welcome the new President.” That sign isn’t there anymore, likely to make this change as subtle as possible. In a time when political divisions seem to be growing worldwide, it seems like a smart move by Disney. Let’s just enjoy the theme park and the rides, leaving political discussions for another time, after all!
Every U.S. president is represented in this attraction, so expect to see 45 different animatronics in the 20-minute show. Since Bill Clinton, each president has lent their voice to the show.
Disney has not announced a reopening date for the attraction at this time, but it likely won’t take long. It’s also unclear whether Donald Trump will record new voice lines for the attraction or use his previous ones from 2016.
