The least desirable scenario guests wish to experience when visiting Walt Disney World parks, is to be soaked to the bone by a strong storm, right? But Mother Nature is unpredictable, even if the weather forecast predicts a perfect time for a Disney trip, there can be a sudden change in the clouds that alters our whole itinerary.

Last weekend was not a fun time for many out there...
Unfortunately, this was the experience of Disney visitors this last weekend. According to the meteorological report, there was a storm developing in the Gulf of Mexico which brought a stormy tropical weather to Central Florida (where Disney World parks are located) this past weekend, entering the area in the afternoon of Saturday, December 16th, and leaving only by Sunday, December Sunday 17th.
This storm, which brought rain and wind to Disney’s parks, affected many of the programmed activities guests had in mind, compelling Disney to give full refunds due to the cancellation of events and shows, like Jollywood Nights (December 16th). Also, Blizzard Beach was closed on Saturday and Sunday as a preventative measure.
Do you know these tips?
Even though it may feel like you won’t be able to enjoy the rest of our trip after a storm like this, there are always ways to face this uncontrollable and unpredictable situation without ruining your magic journey through Disney parks.
Let’s explore them a bit!

Plan your trip without fear:
I know, sometimes planning your vacation can feel scary because, as we mentioned before, the weather is unpredictable, but you don’t have to fear. Even though the weather forecast may not be 100% certain, it gives a great guide on how the weather could behave in the season you plan to travel, and the majority of the time it's pretty accurate to what is going to happen.
Choose the Disney parks you want to visit with a fine-tooth comb:
Walt Disney World covers up to 47 square miles and is divided into its different parks and hanging out areas, and as crazy as the weather is in Florida, there are times that it may be raining in one park and other one is completely dry. So, if you are trying to choose a park that can be navigable with or without rain, then the perfect options are EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. They are perfect for touring or to find places indoors, even with big storms!
Pack ponchos, umbrellas, and… boots:
A great outfit choice is always ideal for Disney World, even on normal atmospheric days. Being comfortable and prepared is always the best decision before venturing into your Disney journey. With uncertain weather conditions like in Florida, it's never a bad idea to pack a poncho, a umbrella and comfortable shoes that won't let you down in case it rains.
