A fun, exclusive escape
“Perfect Day” at Coco Cay has always been one of the main attractions when it comes to the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, and we must admit, it's one of the reasons why we love this Cruise Line so much.
Up until now, there has been only one exclusive destination available for Royal Caribbean Cruise passengers, Coco Cay, located in Berry’s Islands in the paradisiac waters of the Bahamas.
However, this is set to change soon, and we are more than ready to embrace a new surprise coming our way!
New suprises on the horizon!
In 2019, Royal Caribbean announced the upcoming opening of a new paradisiac destination, Lelepa Island located in the South Pacific nation of Vanuatu.
It was planned to open sometime in 2022 but, sadly, these plans faced a strong setback due to COVID-19, the well-known worldwide pandemic that paralyzed so many activities. This particular Royal Caribbean project wasn’t an exception.
Hand to hand with Mother Earth
This new location is expected to be the first private voyage destination to reach carbon neutrality in the whole world. Now that’s impressive, and let’s hope it will be used as inspiration for other cruise lines that own private islands to try to achieve the same goal or surpass it in other ways.
In contrast with Coco Cay, this new complex embraces Vanuatu’s ecological splendor and cultural diversity, making it a one of a kind destination for all passengers.
Let's hold our excitement a little bit longer
I know it feels like we have been waiting an eternity to finally be able to enjoy this most awaited destination, but let’s take a deep breath and relax, because Royal Caribbean has been tight-lipped about this matter.
According to many people involved with the new project, there is still no timeframe for when we will be able to enjoy this completely new destination.
In the meantime, let's keep enjoying the Bahamian gem, CocoCay, and the huge array of activities that it offers to cruise passengers such as jet skis, water slides and breathtaking views.
