A Century of Celebrations
Join us on a nostalgic journey through the timeline as we revisit Disney's most famous balloons featured in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade over the years. This is where Disney takes center stage with incredible floats and iconic character balloons for almost a hundred years.
Mickey Mouse (1934)

Accompanied by his loyal friend Pluto, this classic balloon marked the beginning of a cherished collaboration between Disney and Macy’s.
Mickey and Donald (1972)

Oh, we love this one, celebrating the first anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, the 46th parade saw Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck taking the sky. While Donald led the way in his blue sailor uniform, familiar faces like Goofy, Pluto, and Dumbo joined the festive fun on the ground.
Mickey Mouse (1974)
Returning during the 48th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Mickey Mouse showcased his fashion sense with a classic yellow t-shirt and red shorts. Accompanying him were characters from "Alice in Wonderland," ensuring a vibrant and playful procession.
Donald Duck and Tom Turkey (1984)
In Donald Duck's 50th anniversary year, he had the honor of following Tom Turkey during the 58th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. A beautiful moment for Disney enthusiasts!
Santa Goofy (1992)
Santa Goofy stole the spotlight in the 66th Annual Parade, dressed in a festive Santa Claus suit and carrying a Christmas wreath. As the only new giant balloon character that year, Goofy spread holiday cheer and welcomed the season.
The Ship of Dreams (2005)
In celebration of Disneyland Resort's 50th anniversary, the 79th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade featured the Ship of Dreams. Carrying beloved Disney characters, the ship marked a magical tribute to five decades of enchanting tales.
Magic Meets the Sea (2021 & 2022)

The Disney Wish set sail in the 95th and 96th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades with the "Magic Meets the Sea" float. Featuring 15 favorite Disney friends, including Captain Minnie Mouse and Cinderella, the float showcased the stories and experiences aboard the Disney Wish.
