Did You Know Irons Are Not Allowed Aboard Cruises?

Hello, cruise fans! If you were wondering about how to keep your clothes in shape during your Royal Caribbean or Carnival Cruise, we have the answer for you.

It’s a common question to imagine how your clothes will look during your cruise, especially your formal clothes that you spent hundreds of dollars on for that special cruise night where you pose next to the captain. Well, are you wondering about Irons and laundry that will help keep your clothes looking exquisite? Read on!

    Say Bye-bye to your Irons!

Wait, you didn't know this? Leave your Irons at home! Most cruise lines don’t allow irons on board, like Royal Caribbean. Want to know the reason? It’s all for your own safety. Irons can cause fires and, of course, that safety is the top priority during a cruise. Don’t worry, because there are several options to dodge this "problem".

Oops! They Took My Iron... now what?

The most common situation if you decide to pack iron inside your luggage is that security will just take it away. You can rest easy, as soon as you leave the ship, just find the table with several confiscated items and your iron will (hopefully) be there, alongside numerous items that you never expected to see inside a luggage.

    Laundry SOS: What's the Plan?

If you are missing your Iron, you can pay your Cruise Line to have your clothes washed, folded  and even pressed. Every ship has laundry services, which will cost you extra. Prices vary per Cruise Line and ship. It's important to note that on long, 30 day cruises that usually cross the ocean, laundry services are offered as a daily package, costing about $7 per day.

Suite Perks: Fancy Laundry for VIPs

If you are paying for a fancy suit, there is a chance that you can get some cool extra perks. Depending on your Cruise line, you might get free pressing for the first formal night. The only thing you need to do is ask your room attendant to take care of your clothes and you will be good to go.

Even with all these tips, remember one of the most important thing: you're on vacation! A few wrinkles is not a problem, you are there to relax, not to worry. So, pack smart, enjoy your cruise, and let the good times happen! Start the good times by sending us a message, and let Famvia take care of all your needs for your next special cruise.
