Zootopia is giving us a lot of happy news lately!
If you didn't know, Shanghai Disney Resort is getting ready to welcome its visitors to a whole new ride. Cast members recently got an exclusive peek at their NEW COSTUMES in a special fashion show. The Costume Development team was full of details, and we are here to share the highlights.
Versatile Outfits for Zootopia Adventures
The costumes are more than just clothes, they're designed to be super flexible. The main reason for this is that it won't matter if the cast member is working at the general Zootopia area, the Hot Pursuit ride or merchandise spots, they will rock the themed shirts everywhere celebrating the city's Zootopia Day Concert.
These shirts are a marvel, with a handmade print featuring 22 layers of ink pressing and "Gazelle" in both Chinese and English. Neat.
When cast members are handling Zootopia Hot Pursuit, they will wear two different looks with a reversible vest. It's a smart design by Yonit that lets them change their look easily. One side is all about the Zootopia Police Department, perfect for those helping with police cruiser boarding.
Vibes at Merchandise Spots
For a relaxed style at places like Fashions by Fru Fru, cast members will go for a "bohemian-chic" look.
Wearing the Zootopia Day T-shirt and another reversible vest with circles on one side and stripes on the other, they'll be both comfy and stylish. And look CLOSELY, you might spot cute pawprints in the design!
Nostalgic Style at Jumbeaux’s
Jumbeaux will take you back in time. Cast members at this vintage soda fountain will rock a look inspired by Jerry Jumbeaux Jr., the elephant owner in "Zootopia." Imagine pinstripe pink shirts, black bowties, and diner hats, sounds like a perfect match for the Zootopia vibe.
Susanna, the Costume Development Manager, said that the amazing cast members are the ones who make the land come alive. The costumes are like the final touch, adding magic to the experience.
