A great show and delicious food - without a single hair in sight!

Are you a fan of Tangled? Good news, friend - we’ve got something you’ll love. Rapunzel’s Royal Table is a complimentary restaurant onboard the Disney Magic, featuring Flynn and our favorite heroine who could definitely use a haircut. It’s a beautiful restaurant with a simple yet charming storyline: it’s Rapunzel’s birthday, and we’re all invited to the party. The party includes free food, so of course, I’ll be one of the first ones there. Thanks, Rapunzel!

The Royal Table is one of the many Disney Cruise Line restaurants that combine dining with a show. This means you get to enjoy a delicious meal while Rapunzel and friends sing and dance on a small stage nearby. It’s a similar experience to Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure on the Disney Wish, though Rapunzel’s Royal Table is set in a smaller restaurant with the stage located at the edge of the room, rather than in the center.

What we like about Rapunzel’s Royal Table

There is much to like about this restaurant, starting with the atmosphere. Rapunzel’s storyline originates from Germany, so it makes sense that the setting has strong Oktoberfest vibes. Everything has a medieval touch with a hint of Renaissance, and the paper lanterns scattered throughout the restaurant really make it stand out.

I also appreciate that the show feels more intimate compared to Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. The Royal Table is smaller than Arendelle, with the main stage positioned close to some of the tables. This proximity allows performers to be very close to guests, providing great opportunities for pictures. The actors are not confined to the stage; they move around frequently and sometimes even invite children to dance with them.

The menu is heavily inspired by German cuisine and is well-regarded by most guests. Salads receive great reviews, and guests also rave about the potato cream soup and the smoked pork loin, which is part of the "Flynn Rider Plate", a definite fan favorite.

Characters making an appearance include Rapunzel (duh!), Flynn, Hook-Hand, Atilla, and a few of the ruffians. They try to visit every table near the end of the presentation. While Rapunzel always seems to make the rounds, Flynn might skip some tables. Keep in mind that, as with other DCL rotational dining restaurants featuring a show, characters don’t stop or form lines for photos; they simply come over to say hi, exchange a few words, and then move on.

What we don’t like about Rapunzel’s Royal Table

You can see Rapunzel there to the right!

There isn’t much to dislike about this restaurant, but it does share a common issue with many dining venues that feature a show: some tables further from the stage have poor views. If you’re traveling with little ones, it’s a good idea to arrive early and ask a staff member to be seated closer to the main stage. Otherwise, it may be difficult to see the performance and hear the songs clearly.
