Magical portholes and the Disney touch makes those a great stateroom option
Inside cabins aboard cruise ships share some traits that are basically universal. These are always the cheapest options, and often come with different room subcategories that might offer bigger rooms for families with multiple party members.
For Disney Cruise Line, inside cabins are indeed the most affordable options, typically featuring just two distinct subcategories: the standard inside rooms (the only option available on the Disney Wish) and the Deluxe Inside rooms, which you might find on ships like the Disney Dream, but is missing on the Disney Wish.
The main difference is that a Standard Inside Stateroom has a single bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower unit, while a Deluxe Inside Stateroom features a split bathroom configuration with one bathroom having a toilet and sink, and the other containing the shower unit and a second sink.

What we like about Disney Cruise Line Inside Staterooms

One thing we definitely adore about these rooms is the opportunity to save money with Disney Cruise Line. Let’s be honest - saving money is probably better than pixie dust when it comes to cruising with Mickey. Given that DCL can be 2 to 3 times more expensive than some cruise lines like Carnival, the chance to save a few extra bucks is definitely welcome. Not only are these rooms the most affordable option, but they are still cozy, and you have access to Disney’s professional staff, which is among the best in the world.
Some indoor staterooms also feature a magical porthole, which is essentially a circular LCD screen resembling a porthole. It displays a real-time feed of the ocean and various areas of the ship, and even features Disney characters who make occasional appearances to say hello. The magical porthole is available on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, but unfortunately, it is not included on the Disney Wish.
Disney staterooms also look beautiful with a signature Disney touch. It’s common to find at least one piece of artwork in your room, usually in the form of a big painting on top of your bed, which might show a scene from movies like Cinderella, Tangled or Frozen.
The bathroom on the Disney Wish features a glass door instead of the shower curtain found on older ships. It also has a cool light effect near the floor, which illuminates gently at night if you wake up feeling drowsy.
What we don’t like about Disney Cruise Line Inside Staterooms

The main issue with Disney inside staterooms is the limited closet space. You might consider moving the life jackets elsewhere, but even then, there is barely enough room for two people to organize their clothes. One helpful tip is to take advantage of Disney's elevated beds; you can store your luggage underneath to free up more space for your clothes and to make it easier to move around.
Some guests also find the TV position on the Disney Wish less than ideal. It is mounted on a wall in a somewhat awkward location, making it uncomfortable to watch from the bed.
