Let’s be real - in theory, Royal Barbados and Sandals Barbados are two different properties, but in practice, they are so close together that we can definitely say it’s basically one giant resort with a lot of room options and restaurants.
When it comes to rooms, the main difference is that Sandals Royal Barbados is newer, offering updated and fresh accommodations. There are also some room subcategories that you won’t find at the standard Sandals Barbados, including some amazing suites with private pools that truly enhance the romantic experience. Sandals Royal Barbados also offers only two types of service levels: Club Sandals and Butler Elite.
Sandals Barbados is still relatively new, having launched in 2015. There are three room categories here: Sandals Luxury, Club Sandals, and Butler Elite. The rooms in this part of the resort may not be as updated as those at Royal Barbados, and some of the more luxurious subcategories are missing, but the advantage is that these rooms tend to be more affordable.

Sandals Royal Barbados offers two different room types: Club Sandals and Butler Elite.
Club Sandals Rooms at Sandals Royal Barbados

There are nine different Club Sandals room categories at Sandals Royal Barbados. Each one includes a soaking tub, adding a special touch of romance and always reminding me of how the characters in Game of Thrones enjoy their baths. All rooms feature a king-size bed - yes, just like in Game of Thrones as well!

Butler Elite Rooms at Sandals Royal Barbados
- Good for: you want luxury; you want someone to make reservations for you and bring meals to your room; you don’t mind paying more for top-tier quality rooms.
- Price range: typically starting from $610 per guest/per night.
This is it, this is for guests that want top-mega-ultra luxury and enjoy their vacation at the fullest. The Butler Elite package offers a plethora of perks. You'll enjoy specialized room service and have a dedicated butler at your service, handling reservations, delivering breakfast to your bed, scheduling appointments, and much more. Additionally, some Butler Suites offer private pools that serve 2-3 rooms only, and some rooms come with a private pool for you only.

Ultimately, it all depends on your personal preferences, budget, and how much you intend to utilize the services of your butler.
Butler Elite suites are a very good option if you manage to book early to save some money. Some of these suites come with full living rooms and have a private swimming pool right outside their door, giving guests more luxury and privacy. Your personal bar is stocked with premium liqueurs and sparkling wines, and your butler can accommodate most alcoholic beverage requests.
Butler Elite Suites at Sandals Royal Barbados are truly amazing. This brand-new resort even received an expansion with additional rooms in 2021, allowing Sandals to introduce new subcategories and bring the total to 13 different Butler Suite room types. Some of the more expensive Butler Elite Suites at Royal Barbados also include a private transfer from the airport to the resort in a Rolls Royce, which definitely sounds nice.
Now the most important thing: prices! As expected, these are the most luxurious and consequently, the most expensive rooms in the entire resort.
- In October 2024, the starting price for a Butler Suite is $500.
- In December 2024, the price starts at $880.
- In March 2025, the price starts at $760.
Keep in mind that prices can be really hard to predict. Depending on the time of year, you might find a Butler Suite even cheaper than a Club Sandals room. Now let’s take a look at the rooms offered at Sandals Barbados, located just 20 meters from Sandals Royal Barbados. Yeah, they’re so close that you can get there in about five steps!
Sandals Barbados offers three room types: Sandals Luxury, Club Sandals, and Butler Elite. All the Club Sandals and Butler Elite perks we mentioned above also apply to these rooms.

The name can be a bit misleading, as the Sandals Luxury is actually the budget option at the resort. Sandals Luxury includes at Sandals Barbados includes five different categories. All of them come with a king size bed, but only some of the most expensive Sandals Luxury Rooms have a soaking tub.
All Luxury rooms at Sandals Barbados include complimentary Wi-Fi, a stocked mini-bar with water, juice, soda, wine, and local beer (upon request), and free airport transfers. You have the option to choose a room with direct patio access on the ground floor or select a room on the second or third floor.

Club Sandals Rooms at Sandals Barbados

Club Sandals Rooms at Sandals Barbados are similar to the ones at Royal Barbados. These rooms are just a few years older, but some of them also got updated in the last 5 years or so. All of them also come with a soaking tub, and you get all the standard Club Sandals Perks mentioned previously.
Now let’s look at some prices. As you’ll see from our simulation, a Club Sandals room at Sandals Barbados is even more expensive in October 2024 than one of the same level at Sandals Royal Barbados. It’s all about demand, folks!
