The most important thing when selecting a room is understanding that Sandals Ochi is divided into two main areas:
- The Hillside area
- The Beachfront area
It also offers three different room levels that determine the level of luxury and special services available to you:
- Sandals Luxury (the budget option)
- Sandals Club (the concierge option)
- Butler Elite (the luxurious option with a private butler)
Sandals Ochi might be the most affordable Sandals Resort in Jamaica, but that doesn’t mean that this resort is small and with few options when it comes to picking the perfect room. As we mentioned before, Sandals Ochi is basically two resorts in one, with an area located on the hillside and an area located on the beachfront. Both areas have plenty of rooms for you.

The hillside and beachfront areas are connected by a public road. There is a van provided by Sandals which drives between each region every ten minutes, connecting the hillside portion of the resort to the beachfront and vice-versa. The trip from one place to another takes about ten minutes.
It’s important to decide whether you prefer staying in the hills or near the beach to minimize travel time. In our opinion, beachside accommodations are preferable: they are near the best restaurants, offer direct beach access, and are close to most of the entertainment options. A lot of the most expensive (and newer) rooms are located on the hillside, though.
Once you've chosen your preferred location, selecting the right room level is equally important. This decision determines not only the level of luxury in your room but also the special services available to you.
For now, let’s take a closer look at the different areas.
Room Areas in Sandals Ochi
The Hillside area
The hillside area contains most of the butler suites - the Butler Village is located in this area, after all, but you can also find Luxury Rooms and Club Sandals rooms here. The Hillside area is considered more quiet and peaceful than the beachfront area, and includes several private and public swimming pools. It also contains fewer restaurants than what you’d find at the beachfront. If you want more privacy, you will probably enjoy this location more. Newer and more updated rooms are also located on this portion of the resort. Oh, you can also find The Rabbit Hole here, which is the best bar in the entire resort.
The Beachfront area
You can find most restaurants and activities at the beachfront area of Sandals Ochi. There are fewer butler suites than in the Hillside area, but you can find a lot of Luxury Rooms and Sandals Club rooms near the beach. The beachfront area has more stuff happening than the Hillside area, and almost triple the number of restaurants. The rooms at the beachfront tend to be more basic than the ones on the hillside, though.
If you don’t care that much if you want to stay at the Hillside or the Beachfront, then the next thing you need to look out for is your Room Level. When we are talking about plain luxury and what’s at your disposal in your room, Room Levels are very, very important. Those are divided into Luxury, Sandals Club and Butler Suites.
The Butler Suite Rooms offer the popular butler service, an excellent option for guests who desire assistance with restaurant reservations, in-room dining, and, notably, securing a cabana by the pool at the beginning of the day. It can be quite challenging to save a chair by the pool without a butler, as some guests resort to waking up super early and using a towel or leaving personal items to reserve a spot. Bummer.
Please note that at Sandals Ochi, butlers cannot reserve beach chairs due to limited space on the small beach.
Prices will vary a lot, from the Village you choose all the way to Room Levels, the exact day of your visit and more. One thing that makes Sandals different from sister brand Beaches Resort is that every room at Sandals is made for two guests only. Yep, they always have couples in mind so you can enjoy the perfect, romantic vacation.
Room Levels
Now we are talking! Each building comes with rooms that have their very own category levels. They are the Beaches Luxury, Sandals Club and Beaches Butler Elite, and that’s the other important thing you need to look out for when booking a room at Sandals Ochi.
Sandals Luxury
- Good for: you are on a budget, you don’t plan to spend a lot of time in your room
- Price range: typically starting from $200 to $260 per guest/per night depending on your room
The name can be a bit misleading, as the Sandals Luxury is actually the budget option at the resort. Sandals Luxury includes six different categories, with rooms located at the hillside and on the beachfront. They’re the perfect choice if you want to save some money and plan on enjoying your time outside experiencing restaurants and different activities.
All Luxury rooms at Sandals Ochi include complimentary Wi-Fi, a stocked mini-bar with water, juice, soda, wine, and local beer (upon request), and free airport transfers. You have the option to choose a room with direct patio access on the ground floor or select a room on the second or third floor. Most rooms offer views of the gardens, with partial ocean views available in some.
Prices start at $200 per night, per guest during the low season on select dates. The Great House Luxury room is the cheapest option, located on the hillside.
The Great House Oceanview is the most expensive Luxury Room, starting at $240, and is also located on the hillside area. The main difference from the Great House Luxury room is that this one is located on the top floors, with a partial oceanview. Both rooms have a private balcony, which is nice.

The Great House Luxury room will pay about $4800.
The Great House Oceanview costs about $5300 for the same timeframe.
Club Sandals
- Good for: you want a bit more luxury, you like the concierge perks offered.
- Price range: typically starting from $230 to $320 per guest/per night depending on your room
The mid-term rooms for Sandals Ochi, which is actually quite luxurious. These rooms give you access to the Concierge perks, which include:
The Concierge Lounge: think of this one like those fancy airport lounges for first-class passengers. You get access to a place to relax, drink coffee, have a beer, and just enjoy your time. You can also check-in here and be directed to your room by a dedicated staff member.
Plush bathrobes: now you can feel all cozy when leaving the shower.
Special In-room bar: you have access to soda, wine, beer, juice, water, liqueur and can request specific alcoholic beverages.
…and more perks, like access to a weekly party to concierge members, special treats during your birthday, check out with a concierge agent and the list goes on.
The concierge rooms are a great option in Sandals Ochi. They aren’t that much more expensive than the Sandals Luxury, and you can find these rooms at both the hillside and the beachfront areas of the resort.
The Honeymoon Hideaway Luxury Club Level Garden Cottage (seriously, why are some of these names so long?) located on the beachfront is the cheapest Sandals Club room, with prices starting at $230 per night, per guest.
The Riviera Honeymoon Beachfront Penthouse Club Level is the most expensive Sandals Club room, with prices starting at $320 per night per guest. The main difference between this and the Honeymoon Suite is its larger size, separate shower and bathtub, a sitting area, and amenities like a coffee/tea maker. Additionally, it offers beach views, whereas the Honeymoon Suite overlooks a tropical garden.
Let’s do the math once again, this time with seven nights spent at a Club Level room in early March 2025.
The Honeymoon Hideaway Luxury Club Level Garden Cottage will cost you around $5600 for seven nights.
The Riviera Honeymoon Beachfront Penthouse Club Level will cost you around $6700 for the same timeframe.
Butler Elite
- Good for: you want luxury; you want someone to make reservations for you and bring meals to your room; you don’t mind paying more for top-tier quality rooms.
- Price range: typically starting from $330 to $1200 per guest/per night depending on your room
This is it, this is for guests that want top-mega-ultra luxury and enjoy their vacation at the fullest. The Butler Elite package offers a plethora of perks. You'll enjoy specialized room service and have a dedicated butler at your service, handling reservations, delivering breakfast to your bed, scheduling appointments, and much more. Additionally, some Butler Suites offer private pools that serve 2-3 rooms only, and some rooms come with a private pool for you only.
Now, you might wonder, are Butler Elite rooms worth it? We have written a special article on Butlers & Sandals, which also applies to Beaches Resorts. You can read it and draw your own conclusion. Ultimately, it all depends on your personal preferences, budget, and how much you intend to utilize the services of your butler.
Butler Elite suites are a very good option if you manage to book early to save some money. Some of these suites come with full living rooms and have a private swimming pool right outside their door, giving guests more luxury and privacy. Your personal bar is stocked with premium liqueurs and sparkling wines, and your butler can accommodate most alcoholic beverage requests.
Now the most important thing: prices! As expected, these are the most luxurious and consequently, the most expensive rooms in the entire resort.
The Great House One Bedroom Butler Suite is the cheapest option, located on the hillside. Prices start at $330 per night, per guest.
Another amazing option is the *takes a deep breath*... Butler Village Honeymoon Romeo & Juliet One Bedroom Villa Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary. An amazing name for an amazing room. This is probably the most romantic room in the resort, with a jacuzzi and a private pool just for you, right next to the master bedroom. Prices start at $610 per night, per guest.
The most expensive room in the whole resort is the Villa w/4 One-Bedroom Butler Suites and Private Pool. This room was designed with groups in mind, since it’s basically a small building with connected rooms and private pools. Prices start at $1200 per guest, per night.
Let’s do the math for early February.
A couple staying seven nights at The Great House One Bedroom Butler Suite will pay about $7100 for their stay.
The Romeo & Juliet Villa Suite increases that price to $9900.
The Villa w/4 One-Bedroom Butler Suites costs $24000. Keep in mind that you also need to tip your Butler, which should be around $20-50 per day.
Just a heads up: much like Sandals Club rooms, Butler Suites sell out very quickly at Sandals Ochi. Make sure to book in advance if you want to experience the Butler Elite suites.
