Sandals Negril offers three different room types:
- Sandals Luxury (the budget option)
- Club Sandals (the concierge option)
- Butler Elite (the luxurious option with a private butler)
Sandals Negril opened its doors in 1988, and is one of the first ever Sandals to grace Jamaica. It offers a good mix of newer, modern rooms introduced in the last few years, along with some more rustic rooms that need a bit more love.
For example, Luxury Rooms tend to be very simple, with most offering views of the tropical garden, while few are situated near the beach. Club Sandals and Butler Elite Suites feature some new room categories that you should look for, as prices are quite fair and the accommodations are new, fresh, and modern. These new rooms also offer amenities that are mostly found in newer Sandals, such as a soaking tub, a swim-up pool, and even a private pool in some cases. The good news is that Negril isn’t very expensive, so these rooms won’t hurt your wallet… much.
Now, let’s take a look at the starting prices for a couple spending one week at Sandals Negril. Of course, prices fluctuate significantly throughout the year, but they can help you see which months offer the most affordable options and which months are considered peak season.
As you can see, prices are higher from January to March and begin to decrease in April. June and July are great months to visit Jamaica, even if it might rain occasionally. To keep things in perspective, July offers some amazing deals for Club Sandals and Butler Elite Suites, allowing you to pay $2,000 less than if you decide to travel in February.
Room Levels
Sandals Luxury
Good for: you are on a budget; you don’t plan to spend a lot of time in your room; you don’t mind a room that’s close to the main road and can get loud.
Price range: typically starting from $210 per guest/per night.
The name might be a bit misleading, as Sandals Luxury is actually the budget option at the resort. There are five different categories of Sandals Luxury rooms in Negril, with most offering views of the garden and two providing partial views of the ocean.
These are mostly rustic rooms in need of some updates. They are usually located near the main road, which can get a bit loud. The main advantage? These rooms are very affordable and a great option if you are on a budget and want to save money during your next vacation.
The most affordable room, called the “Paradise Deluxe,” has a starting price of $210 per night, per guest. One of the rooms that offer partial ocean views is the “Longshore Oceanview Luxury Room,” with prices starting at $240 per night, per guest.
Club Sandals
Good for: you want a bit more luxury; you like the concierge perks offered; you want to stay in a new room at Sandals Negril.
Price range: typically starting from $250 per guest/per night.
The mid-term rooms for Sandals Negril, which is actually quite luxurious. These rooms give you access to the Concierge perks, which include:
The Concierge Lounge: think of this one like those fancy airport lounges for first-class passengers. You get access to a place to relax, drink coffee, have a beer, and just enjoy your time. You can also check-in here and be directed to your room by a dedicated staff member.
Plush bathrobes: now you can feel all cozy when leaving the shower.
Special In-room bar: you have access to soda, wine, beer, juice, water, liqueur and can request specific alcoholic beverages.
…and more perks, like access to a weekly party to concierge members, special treats during your birthday, check out with a concierge agent and the list goes on.
These are my favorite types of rooms at Sandals Negril for a very particular reason: two new room subcategories have been introduced in the past few years, and these rooms aren’t as expensive when compared to other Sandals resorts. The cheapest Club Sandals room isn’t new but has a starting price of $250 per night, per guest, while one of the newly introduced rooms costs $270. For such a small difference, I’d certainly recommend the newest room, known as the “Bamboo Grove Club Suite w/ Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub,” which even features a soaking tub on the balcony.
The second new room is the “Bamboo Grove Swim-up Club Suite” (pictured above). It’s more spacious than the other rooms and comes with a semi-private pool right outside your door! This room is also located in the Bamboo Grove buildings, which were introduced in recent years. Prices for this one start at $370 per night, per guest.
Butler Elite Suites
Good for: you want luxury; you want someone to make reservations for you and bring meals to your room; you don’t mind paying more for top-tier quality rooms; you want to stay in a new room at Sandals Negril.
Price range: typically starting from $310 per guest/per night.
This is it, this is for guests that want top-mega-ultra luxury and enjoy their vacation at the fullest. The Butler Elite package offers a plethora of perks. You'll enjoy specialized room service and have a dedicated butler at your service, handling reservations, delivering breakfast to your bed, scheduling appointments, and much more. Additionally, some Butler Suites offer swim-up pools that serve 2-3 rooms only, and some rooms come with a private pool for you only.

Ultimately, it all depends on your personal preferences, budget, and how much you intend to utilize the services of your butler.
Butler Elite suites are a very good option if you manage to book early to save some money. Some of these suites come with full living rooms and have a private swimming pool right outside their door, giving guests more luxury and privacy. Your personal bar is stocked with premium liqueurs and sparkling wines, and your butler can accommodate most alcoholic beverage requests.
Sandals Negril offers eight different Butler Elite suites, two of which are completely new and built from the ground up. Keep in mind that the original Butler Elite Suites are a bit rustic and located in older buildings, but they are still more spacious than the most affordable Luxury rooms. Some of the original suites also feature swim-up pools or private pools. For example, the “Palm Grove Honeymoon One Bedroom Butler Suite w/ Private Pool Sanctuary” is an older suite that comes with a private pool and has a starting price of $490 per night, per guest.
The two new rooms are the “Bamboo Grove One-Bedroom Skypool Butler Suite” (pictured above) and the “Bamboo Grove One-Bedroom Skypool Butler Suite w/ Roof Terrace.” Both are located in the new Bamboo Grove area, so they are modern, fresh, and new. The first room is on the third floor and offers a private pool right on the balcony, with a starting price of $600 per night, per guest. The second room is on the fourth floor and features a skypool on the terrace. Prices for this suite start at $650 per night, per guest.
