Sandals Montego Bay offers three different room types:
- Sandals Luxury (the budget option)
- Club Sandals (the concierge option)
- Butler Elite (the luxurious option with a private butler)
Sandals Montego Bay is the original Sandals resort, first opened in 1981, and has undergone several renovations since then, with the most recent one in 2019. It’s an ideal resort for those seeking a classy atmosphere combined with modern amenities. Some rooms are brand new, less than ten years old, while others have older, more outdated designs. Most of the newer rooms are in the Club Sandals and Butler Elite categories, while the Luxury Rooms have mainly received updates.

Room prices at Sandals Montego Bay start at $270 per guest, per night. Some of the newest Club Sandals rooms begin at $300, which is a fair price. If I were planning a stay at Sandals Montego Bay, I would likely consider the Club Sandals rooms. They aren’t that much more expensive than the Luxury Rooms (and, in some cases, the prices can even be the same), but they offer additional perks, which we will explore shortly, and are usually more spacious.
Now, let’s take a look at the starting prices for a couple spending one week at Sandals Montego Bay. Of course, prices fluctuate significantly throughout the year, but they can help you see which months offer the most affordable options and which months are considered peak season.
These calculations were made in October 2024, but they give you a good idea of what to expect when booking your next vacation. As you can see, prices are excellent from June to October, and even December offers great deals if you book in advance. The difference in price between a Luxury Room and a Club Sandals room is about $1000 for a week for a couple, which I think is a fair upgrade to enjoy a brand-new room.
Room Levels
Sandals Luxury

- Good for: you are on a budget; you don’t plan to spend a lot of time in your room; you don’t mind a room that might be a little outdated.
- Price range: typically starting from $270 per guest/per night.
The name might be a bit misleading, as Sandals Luxury is actually the budget option at the resort. Sandals Montego Bay offers only three different Sandals Luxury Rooms, with prices ranging from $270 to $390. Why such a price difference? The most expensive option is a larger room located directly in front of the beach, but it doesn’t come with any special amenities.
In fact, my favorite Luxury Room is the mid-range option called the “Crystal Lagoon Honeymoon Oceanview Luxury Room with Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub” (pictured above). Yep, that’s a pretty long name. This room has undergone major renovations and features bright colors, unlike the darker tones of the other two rooms. It also includes a balcony and a soaking tub for you to enjoy, with prices starting at $290 per guest, per night.
Club Sandals

- Good for: you want a bit more luxury, you like the concierge perks offered; you want rooms that aren’t even ten years old.
- Price range: typically starting from $290 per guest/per night.
The mid-term rooms for Sandals Montego Bay, which is actually quite luxurious. These rooms give you access to the Concierge perks, which include:
The Concierge Lounge: think of this one like those fancy airport lounges for first-class passengers. You get access to a place to relax, drink coffee, have a beer, and just enjoy your time. You can also check-in here and be directed to your room by a dedicated staff member.
Plush bathrobes: now you can feel all cozy when leaving the shower.
Special In-room bar: you have access to soda, wine, beer, juice, water, liqueur and can request specific alcoholic beverages.
…and more perks, like access to a weekly party to concierge members, special treats during your birthday, check out with a concierge agent and the list goes on.
There are nine different subcategories of Club Sandals rooms at Sandals Montego Bay, providing a good range of options. Some of these rooms are older and have undergone renovations over the years, while others are brand new, having been constructed about five years ago. The most expensive Club Sandals rooms, with prices starting at $430 per guest, per night, also feature a semi-private swim-up pool accessible directly from your patio.
I really like Club Sandals in Montego Bay. The rooms are usually not much more expensive than the Luxury Rooms, and they offer accommodations that are generally newer, along with a few extra perks. One of my favorite options is a brand-new room called the “Garden Club Level Room with Outdoor Tranquility Soaking Tub.” This room was introduced a few years ago and features a patio or balcony with a Tranquility Soaking Tub, giving you lovely views of the tropical garden. It’s also reasonably priced, starting at $300 per night, per guest.
Butler Elite Suites

- Good for: you want luxury; you want someone to make reservations for you and bring meals to your room; you don’t mind paying more for top-tier quality rooms.
- Price range: typically starting from $430 per guest/per night.
This is it, this is for guests that want top-mega-ultra luxury and enjoy their vacation at the fullest. The Butler Elite package offers a plethora of perks. You'll enjoy specialized room service and have a dedicated butler at your service, handling reservations, delivering breakfast to your bed, scheduling appointments, and much more. Additionally, some Butler Suites offer swim-up pools that serve 2-3 rooms only, and some rooms come with a private pool for you only.
Now, you might wonder, are Butler Elite rooms worth it? We have written a special article on Butlers & Sandals, which also applies to Beaches Resorts. You can read it and draw your own conclusion. Ultimately, it all depends on your personal preferences, budget, and how much you intend to utilize the services of your butler.

Butler Elite suites are a very good option if you manage to book early to save some money. Some of these suites come with full living rooms and have a private swimming pool right outside their door, giving guests more luxury and privacy. Your personal bar is stocked with premium liqueurs and sparkling wines, and your butler can accommodate most alcoholic beverage requests.
Sandals Montego Bay has 13 different Butler Elite Suites, which is a remarkable variety of options. Interestingly, however, none of the suites offer private pools; instead, some of them feature swim-up pools located directly in front of your patio. Every Butler Elite Suite in Sandals Montego Bay comes with a soaking tub, giving you the opportunity to experience a romantic moment or take a bath Game of Thrones-style.
Most of the suites have undergone major renovations, and you can also find brand-new rooms. One of these new options is the “Beachfront Oversized Butler Villa Suite with Outdoor Tranquility Soaking Tub” (pictured above), which starts at $470 per night, per guest. This room is located next to the beach and features an outdoor tranquility soaking tub.
