A fun launch coaster that’s been given Edna Mode’s seal of approval

The Incredicoaster is one of the most classic rides at Disney California Adventure. How could it not be? Located on Pixar Pier right next to the ferris wheel, it’s one of the longest steel roller coasters in the world, the fastest roller coaster at Disneyland Resort, and a very fun experience for those that love coasters. Originally debuting in 2001, it was rethemed to The Incredibles in 2018 to coincide with the launch of The Incredibles 2 (spoiler: it’s a good movie).

This is simply a very enjoyable roller coaster. It may not blow your mind, but it has several features that make it a must-ride. It’s a long ride at almost two and a half minutes, has a great launch with guests nearby watching as your vehicle takes off, and it’s the only roller coaster at Disneyland Resort with an inversion.

What we like about the Incredicoaster

There’s a lot to love about this coaster, and it’s actually great that it doesn’t feature massive drops or a ton of loops. It’s an excellent choice for kids who enjoyed Space Mountain and are ready to try something a bit more thrilling. Don’t expect a massive mega coaster like the VelociCoaster at Islands of Adventure - the Incredicoaster offers a completely different experience. This coaster features a fun launch that reaches speeds of 55 mph, a single inversion, plenty of cool twists and turns and even a short storyline featuring your pals from The Incredibles.

In many ways, this coaster was designed to resemble a wooden coaster. It’s long, full of straightaways, ramps that take you up and down and bunny hills that give you some airtime. You’ll also pass through several dark tunnels that help tell a story, each highlighting a member of The Incredibles. Personally, I’ve never paid much attention to what they have to say (sorry, that was rude), but I absolutely love the effect in the first tunnel right after the initial launch, with the ceiling colored in purple neon lights to simulate Dash’s super speed.

Although this isn’t exactly a super thrilling ride, this is a great choice for those that love speed and just long roller coasters. The Incredicoaster is actually the 7th longest coaster in the world, giving you a great view of the park. The atmosphere here is also Incredible (see what I did there?), with the ferris wheel and guests walking on the nearby pier. This ride always reminds me of classic carnival rides during a hot summer day.

What we don’t like about the Incredicoaster

Hey, there’s not much to dislike about this one. Just keep in mind that this isn’t a coaster with intense airtime, massive loops, or thrilling-huge drops. The Incredicoaster is more about propelling you through a set track, with twists and turns that send your vehicle up, down, and side to side. It’s a great option for kids, but if you're a fan of high-adrenaline coasters, it might feel a bit tame.
