Get ready to fly and (maybe) see an orthopedic specialist as you soar with Goofy
Ready to take off and learn to fly with Goofy? If you answered yes, we might need to talk. I mean, I wouldn’t board a plane with Goofy any more than I’d hop in a car with Pluto behind the wheel. That said, this is a perfectly safe ride, so it turns out Goofy is actually a pretty decent pilot, and definitely better than Harrison Ford.
Goofy’s Sky School is a wild mouse roller coaster, which means it’s all about sharp turns and sudden drops rather than speed or inversions. It’s an excellent coaster for kids, as it’s not very fast and doesn’t have any loops. This type of coaster is known for its compact design, low height, and sudden turns that make you feel like you’re being flung sideways. Just, uh, make sure your back is in good shape before you hop on.
What we like about Goofy's Sky School

I love that this ride is perfect for kids and serves as a great stepping stone to see if they’ll enjoy roller coasters. However, it’s not exactly a traditional roller coaster. It’s more about quick turns and occasional sudden drops. If you’ve ever been to Disney's Animal Kingdom, it’s quite similar to the now-defunct Primeval Whirl, which closed in 2021. RIP.
Instead of Dinos, though, you are accompanied by Goofy in a variety of sections that are a traditional to wild mouse coasters. The first section has you being shoved to the sides, while the second part has a short drop that even gives you some air time. You also go through some bunny hills that are always good for a laugh.
Suffice it to say, this is a great ride for kids. They always laugh and scream when the vehicle suddenly pushes you to the side, and they get tossed around as it squeezes you against your seat. I always end up yelling and looking a little crazy next to my young nephews when riding it. Since it’s not a very fast ride, you can easily chat with the kids and have fun while enjoying the experience. Be sure to bring the children here before tackling the Incredicoaster!
What we don’t like about Goofy's Sky School

There’s not much to dislike about this one. Just keep in mind that, even though it’s considered a roller coaster, it’s more of a thrill ride that doesn’t move very fast or have any big drops. However, you will be pushed to the sides in the first section, so be aware. I won’t lie, I've seen some guests complain about this ride, especially those with back or neck issues. If you’re dealing with any of that, I’d recommend skipping Goofy’s Sky School.
Some people online also mention that this ride can be a bit scary, as the sudden movements to the sides make it feel like you're going to fall off the track. I don’t think they’re exaggerating, so if you're afraid of that kind of sensation and might get too tense from being tossed around, I’d recommend letting Goofy fly solo.
