Today, one of the fan favorites is closed!
If you are thinking of visiting Disney World's Magic Kingdom this week and the rest of the month, here is something you need to know. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is going on a little break. Starting today, this favorite ride is taking a timeout for a routine maintenance. But don’t worry, it’s set to reopen on January 21st, ready to give guests an extra dose of fun.
Don’t be sad!
Closures like these might be a bit of a bummer, but there’s a silver lining. Disney wants to make sure all their rides are in tip-top shape, so they occasionally hit the pause button for a tune-up. This not only keeps everything running smoothly, but also makes sure the ride is safe for everyone! Oh, also reduces the chances that rides break down during normal park hours.
While Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is taking a short nap, you can explore other cool stuff in the park. Keep in mind that wait times for other rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain might go up a bit because of the absence of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
If Big Thunder was on your must-ride list, maybe you can plan your visit after January 21st. In the meantime, enjoy the other fantastic attractions Magic Kingdom has to offer.
