Be ready to transport yourself to the early 2000s, because we are going back to an older Disney landscape to see how magic was experienced during this era. Phew, the early 2000s seems like ages ago, in a time when the iPhone didn't even exist and the internet was growing bigger and bigger. Well, the Walt Disney World Resort is continuing evolving but a throwback is never a bad idea!
Magic Kingdom: Classic Wonder and Expansion
Magic Kingdom is a timeless centerpiece of Disney World. Cinderella Castle, a symbol of the main Disney magic, continues to reign over the park, with iconic attractions like Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Haunted Mansion existing for decades at this point.

Epcot is known for its celebrations of human achievements and technological innovation, and at the beginning of the century they introduced the “Tapestry of Nation” parade during the Millinum Celebration (1999-2001). After this Spaceship Earth continued to take guests exploring the history of communications.
Disney's Hollywood Studios: Lights, Camera, Action!
Did you know that Disney Hollywood Studios was formerly known as Disney-MGM Studios? In the 2000s, it captivated audiences with its focus on adrenaline, and it opened the doors for attractions like Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in 1994 and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith in 1999. Those are some of the most popular rides in Hollywood Studios up to this day.
Animal Kingdom: An Oasis of Adventure

Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened in 1998, and by 2000 it was still practically new. People were hyped to see Kilimanjaro Safaris and finally see the first ever Disney park which features live animals, a good rival to Tampa's Busch Gardens.
Resort Hotels and Downtown Disney (Now Disney Springs): Timeless Retreats
Talking about resort hotels in that era, Disney maintained their reputation for excellent theming and great hospitality. The All-Star Resorts and the luxurious Grand Floridian Resort & Spa were already fan favorites.
An interesting fact is that Downtown Disney, which would later transform into Disney Springs, offered live entertainment that made it different from the competition with unique shopping, dining, and night experiences!
The 2000s was a new millennium for Disney and, of course, this meant a lot of new things. The evolution of Disney World, new attractions, and magical transformations to the beloved attractions that have been there for more than 30 years and in the 2000’s they were just getting better and better.
