It's time for a Disney visit!
Let’s admit it, we don’t need excuses to visit Disney, right? But it's great to have something to look forward to before such a magical trip. And this time, a Disney mastermind of colors and canvas has one exciting showcase that you won’t want to miss.
Let’s go to Disney Springs
On your next Disney Spring visit, do not skip the Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression, which is a place where the streets nestle the art and talent of so many artists, and there is a new exciting addition to the collection. Let’s take a colorful look!
Who’s behind this wonderful work?
Disney Cast member, Marcella Swetts, has been working for a long time on unique artwork especially thought and finished on time for Black History Month. The name of the masterpiece is “Gullah Magic”, which is not only mesmerizing, but allows your creativity to explore every sense of the history behind it.

What does it represent?
This masterpiece represents the story of the West and Central African people, the Gullah, who are still situated in the south these days. This is such a personal topic for our dear artist, Marcella, whose family has Gullah heritage and she wanted to share their culture and expand the history behind them through her artwork in Florida.

Which Gullah’s elements are present?
One thing we enjoy about art is how we can unwrap little by little some key elements that tell the story intended by the artist. Well, the same applies to this unique piece. The seagrass basket and the grain of rice are huge components that represent the traditions and art of the Gullah.

And if you pay close attention, there are three faces in the painting which, according to the artist, represent the past, present, and future of the Gullah people. How incredible! Certainly, art knows no limit, especially at Disney World.
Bravo, Marcella! Keep it up with the great work and incredible art at Disney World, or anywhere in the world!
