Did you know there is a special day to honor popcorn? Yes, the delicious salty and buttery options that we enjoy so much during movies, shows, or even just as an afternoon snack. Popcorns from all over the world have their own day to be celebrated (a.k.a. eaten), and Disney rolled out the red carpet for this important celebration.
Popcorn was the specialty at Disney World
This last Friday, January 19th, was the national Popcorn Day at the Happiest Place on Earth, and park guests were able to enjoy a pretty special order, specifically created to honor this delicious snack.
We are talking about the new flavor named Strawberry Crunch, created by an iconic family business that has been surprising all Disney foodies throughout the years: Popcorn Junkie everyone. They are the brilliant minds behind this masterpiece, have you ever tried it?
Who are the creators?
The incredibly talented family of Neal and Minetta Crosier has been Disney Resorts’ gourmet popcorn suppliers since 2018, and continue to make unique and delicious recipes until this day. They teamed up with a few Disney Chefs and some incredible flavors came to life from this collaboration. It is a truly magical pop waiting for you at every corner of Disney Parks and Resorts (and even aboard DCL ships!)
Until now they have been expanding and continue becoming a successful business in the gastronomical world. The small business that one day started with just two employees has now grown to nine since 2018! Great news, right? Neal Crosier expresses his happiness and surprise that the business has been so successful and profitable in just a few years working with Disney.
For us this is not a surprise, because they truly have a secret recipe for making Popcorn Junkie a mouthwatering journey, bite after bite.
Is the latest flavor still available?
Yes! But only for a limited time, so better plan your next Disney Trip as soon as possible. It can be found at Main Street Confectionery, more specifically at Kernel Kitchen. Do not worry, our team will make sure to add this place to your trip schedule.
