Navigating the official Disney World app can sometimes feel like a quest of its own, with its quirks and occasional glitches. Yeah, it happens to us too from time to time. But, recently, a new concern caught Disney's attention, which quickly prompted a new update.
Now when you are casually scrolling through the My Disney Experience app, a pop-up message sometimes appears on the home screen. The message reads, "This app contains in-app purchases for services like Disney PhotoPass downloads that cost real money." Did this happen to you as well?

This warning is Disney's response to a noteworthy issue: users making purchases through the app without realizing they involve actual money. Perhaps a case of little ones innocently exploring their parents' phones, that probably happens a lot! It's very easy sometimes to click a few buttons and just pay for something you are not supposed to. This is a common mistake even up to this day with the Google and Apple Stores.
With features like Mobile Order and Disney PhotoPass downloads, it's easy to see how transactions might slip under the radar. Many users have their payment details saved, and, if your phone falls into the hands of little adventurers, surprise charges might occur.
At the moment, Disney hasn't given an official reason for this warning. It is, however, a timely heads-up for users to stay vigilant about their app transactions. So, next time you're scrolling through the Disney World app, keep an eye out for more than just wait times, you need to watch out for your wallet too!
