What’s up, Universal fans? We’ve got some EXCITING news for y’all because Universal Destinations & Experiences just revealed on Friday, December 1st, 2023, the official name, and details of the theme park that is being built in Frisco, Texas.
Yet another Universal theme park!?
The Universal Kids Resort is a 300-room hotel and first-ever theme park, especially designed for families with young children, and can cater to riders up to 46 inches tall. Even though it will officially open to the public in 2026, we couldn’t contain our excitement!
Here’s what the Universal team and the Mayor of Frisco have to say about the upcoming resort:
“We're designing the resort so kids and families can feel the thrill of being physically immersed in their most beloved stories and characters,” Molly Murphy, Universal Creative, said.
“We’ll have playful shows, meet-and-greets, fun food and beverage. We’re designing it with the unbridled creativity of children in mind, from a kid’s perspective. What does it look, feel, smell, taste like? Tapping into their imagination and their sense of discovery and play,” Molly Murphy, Universal Creative, added.
“The whole resort will have a very lush landscape feel, and we have buffer trees,” Page Thompson, President of New Ventures for Universal Destinations & Experiences, said.
"The characters that children in this community will grow up loving and get see and touch, and be around every single day — it's going to grow into being the very essence of growing up and living in Frisco," Jeff Cheney, Frisco Mayor, said.
This is super exciting, especially for the children! Their childhood is ready for even more amazing memories with this upcoming theme park in 2026!
But wait, children won’t be the only ones happy since the theme park will also create an opportunity to give people 2,500 new construction jobs in the region. It’s a win for the job seekers out there as well. Lastly, it will generate $200 million in annual spending, so yay for the economy of Frisco!
We are super excited about this, and we’re sure that your kids will be too! Universal seems to be on a roll, with Epic Universe launching in Florida in 2025 and Universal Kids Resort one year later in Texas.
