It’s the most wonderful time of the year again! There are trips, vacations, and parties from left to right, which means that airports are really crowded once we spot Christmas on the horizon.
On Sunday, November 26th, 2023, during the busy Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the Transportation Security Administration announced on X, formerly Twitter, that November 26 has been officially the busiest travel day in the United States ever. They were able to screen over 2.9 million people at airports across the country. That's a lot of people, by the way.
A New Record!
That figure is an agency record for the most travelers screened in a single day! But even though it was record-breaking, it’s expected that airports will be very crowded this year, especially since it was the day after Thanksgiving, when many are going back home from their vacations. If you’re one of the many who decided to hop on a plane, we’re sure that you squeezed your way through massive crowds.
With that huge number of passengers, we can’t help but wonder how many will be traveling for Christmas and the New Year as well. It might be a smiliar number, or, well, it is possible that we break the record. Again. Either way, make sure to prepare for your trip because this holiday season will be no joke in the airports all across the country.
