We have received some news on this Cruise Line!
Norwegian Cruise Line has implemented a new sanitation process for in-stateroom whirlpool spas on its new ship, the Norwegian Viva. These improved sanitation measures focus on maintaining a healthy and safe environment, bringing a change that might be disappointing for guests, especially those who pay extra for exclusive and luxury cabins.

What's Changing?
The balcony whirlpools, a luxurious space available in certain suites in The Haven, will no longer be continuously available. Due to the new sanitation protocols, these whirlpools must now be individually prepared for use and will only be usable for approximately one hour. After each use, the hot tubs will be promptly drained.
Guest Compensation

To compensate for this inconvenience, Norwegian Cruise Line is offering impacted guests a $500 (USD) non-refundable onboard credit to each stateroom, and the first and second guest in each stateroom will receive $250 each, credited to their onboard account.
The Procedure
To use the whirlpool spa in their stateroom, guests will be required to make a request for it to be prepared by talking to the housekeeper. The enhanced sanitation process will have to comply with CDC guidelines and company protocols to create a healthy and secure environment.
Public Hot Tubs and Other Water Features

No information has been provided regarding the public hot tubs, including if those in the Thermal Suite, are affected. The status of other water features like swimming pools, splash pads, and waterslides is still unknown to all of us. The impact of these features could significantly influence guests!
About Norwegian Viva
Norwegian Viva, the second ship in the Prima class, debuted in August 2023 in Europe. The vessel, with a gross tonnage of 142,500, recently completed its first transatlantic cruise from Europe to Florida.
Offering a limited number of sailings from Miami before heading to San Juan, Norwegian Viva can accommodate 3,099 guests and is set to sail various itineraries in the Caribbean.

As Norwegian Cruise Line is trying to prioritize the health and safety of its guests, these changes reflect ongoing efforts to include the guidelines from the industry and make sure everyone is in a secure cruising environment.
