NEWS: Disney CEO Bob Iger to Step Down In 2026

    Time to retire the suit

Bob Iger has truly done a lot of things for Disney ever since he returned as CEO in November 2022 to revamp the company after his successor, Bob Chapek, got board-ousted. He came up with lots of efforts, new strategies, and ideas for Disney’s streaming service Disney+ and plans to transform Disney's theme parks all over the world.

Since his return, Iger has restructured the company and streamlined operations to make it more cost-effective. In fact, Disney is on track to exceed the $5 billion in cost savings that was promised to investors in February.

But a few years from now, Bob Iger will step down when his contract ends as the Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company. Iger, in fact, only planned to stay for two years as the head of the company, but agreed to extend his stay through 2026 — and well, it’s already final.

    Who's next?

Meanwhile, Disney's board announced that they had appointed Morgan Stanley CEO James P. Gorman and Jeremy Darroch, former group chief executive of Sky, as the new directors, starting early next year.

Well, this is big news, and we’re looking forward to see who’ll be the next CEO of The Walt Disney Company and who will fill Iger’s shoes.
