Virgin Voyages (VV) is heavily focused on Europe, with many fantastic cruises departing from Athens and Barcelona. They also have a significant presence in the United States, though currently, their primary port is PortMiami in Florida.
Good news is on the horizon, though! Virgin Voyages plans to double their presence in North America over the next two years. In September 2025, they will introduce itineraries from New York that include visits to Canada, and new cruises will start from Los Angeles in 2026. For 2024, most North American cruises will still depart from Florida, featuring short, enjoyable trips to the Caribbean.

While most of their cruises are 5-night trips to the Caribbean, Virgin Voyages also offers several 3-4 night cruises and a few 6-8 night options that visit destinations like Nassau or San Juan.
The main Virgin Voyages destinations are:
- Caribbean & Bahamas
- Europe (Nederlands, Spain, Greece, more…)
- North America (starting 2025)
- Transatlantics (Barcelona to Miami; San Juan to Barcelona, more…)
There’s a lot of excitement about Virgin’s new ship, the Brilliant Lady, set to debut in September 2025. This ship will offer numerous new itineraries across North America. For now, however, most American passengers will need to drive or fly to Miami to embark on their journey, as the current departures are from PortMiami.

Most Virgin Voyages cruises depart from the following locations:
- Miami
- Barcelona
- Piraeus (Athens)
- Portsmouth
- San Juan
As we talked about in our main Virgin Voyages guide, VV also has ports in Australia and New Zealand, but all cruises to Oceania have been canceled for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Virgin Voyages blames the ongoing Houthi attacks in the Red Sea for this difficult decision.
Virgin Voyages Destinations
Caribbean & Bahamas

Main destinations: Costa Maya, Bimini, St Johns, Nassau
Starting price for a 6-Day Western Caribbean cruise from Miami aboard Scarlet Lady: $2540 for a cabin for two.
Every cruise line loves to visit the Caribbean, and Virgin Voyages is no exception. From July 2024 to December 2024, they offer 12 different itineraries across the Caribbean. While this is not a lot, it's worth noting that Virgin Voyages is a smaller company with a unique target audience. Their cruises can take you to destinations like Cozumel, San Juan, Costa Maya, and the private beach club in Bimini.
Virgin Voyages specializes in short trips to the Caribbean, offering many 4-5 night cruises to beautiful islands. They also provide longer 6-8 night cruises to destinations like Puerto Plata and San Juan. One exciting feature is their thematic cruises, such as the “Caribbean Breeze and Haunted Seas” Halloween cruise, which runs from October 30 to November 30 and adds a scary twist to the popular red theme of Virgin Voyages.
Europe

Main destinations: Greek isles, Netherlands, France, Spain, more
Starting price for a 7-night Mediterranean Caribbean cruise from Barcelona aboard Scarlet Lady: $2800 for a cabin for two.
Virgin Voyages has a strong presence in Europe. Imagine an adults-only cruise with your significant other, enjoying a relaxed and cozy atmosphere as you explore the Greek Isles. Now that sounds pretty good! While you’ll need to travel to Europe to board, Virgin Voyages is an excellent choice for a European cruise if you're not traveling with children.
VV offers several different cruises that depart from Athens or Barcelona and visit the Greek Isles and the Mediterranean. There are also cruises that take you to both France and Spain, and the historical city of Dubrovnik in Croatia.
Cruises in Europe offer a wide range of durations. You can find 3-4 night cruises departing from Portsmouth, England, while longer 7-12 night cruises depart from Athens or Barcelona. One of the most impressive options, however, is the 12-night “From the UK to Spain and Morocco” cruise, which takes you from Portsmouth to Lisbon, Ibiza, Casablanca, Barcelona, and more.
Transatlantic

Main destinations: Miami, San Juan, Barcelona, Casablanca
Starting price for a 16-night cruise from Rome to Miami: $3400 for a cabin for two.
Transatlantic cruises are fantastic, and doing one aboard a luxurious, adults-only cruise line with numerous complimentary perks sounds even better! As Virgin Voyages expands its fleet, they are increasingly offering more transatlantic crossings as ships travel between the United States and Europe.
From July until the end of 2024, there are 6 different transatlantic cruises taking place. One of the most fun ones is the 14-night halloween special from Barcelona to Miami, taking place from October 27 to November 27 with a starting price of $4200.
These are the transatlantics scheduled to travel in 2024/2025 that include a stop in Miami. They are all a one-way trip:
- Miami to Casablanca & Barcelona (Miami to Barcelona) on May 3, 2025
- Transatlantic Tricks & Treats (Barcelona to Miami) on October 27, 2024
- From Rome to Miami (Rome to Miami) on November 28, 2024

North America (starting Fall 2025)

Main destinations: New York, Boston, Quebec City, Bermuda
Starting price for a 5-night “The Big Apple to Bermuda” cruise from New York aboard Brilliant Lady in September 2025: $2900 for a cabin for two.
Starting September 2025, Virgin Voyages will offer brand new cruises departing from New York with new itineraries aboard a brand new ship. That's a lot of “new” in one sentence, but let's just say VV is already generating excitement for these cruises, and bookings are now open. Do you want to be one of the first-ever passengers aboard the Brilliant Lady? Then you should pay close attention to the itineraries and secure a spot, as prices will only go up with time.
The maiden voyage will take place on September 3, with a 5-night cruise from New York to Bermuda and back. Since it’s the maiden voyage, prices are already at $3800 for a cabin for two.
There will be four different itineraries with the Brilliant Lady in 2025:
- The Big Apple to Bermuda: This itinerary mirrors the maiden voyage, taking passengers to Kings Wharf and back.
- Northeast Atlantic Adventure: An 8-night cruise from New York to Boston, Eastport, Saint John, and Halifax, then back to New York City.
- Nautical Northeast NYC to Quebec: A 10-night cruise similar to the previous one, but ends in Quebec City.
- Canada, Carolina & Miami: A 13-night cruise departing from Quebec City, touring the eastern coast with stops in Boston, Eastport, Charleston and ending in Miami.
