A basic look at the interior, outside, and balcony cabins across five itineraries reveals that, on average, Celebrity Xcel IS 41.24% CHEAPER than Star of the Seas.
Even when considering Celebrity Cruises' All inclusive pricing, which bundles discounts on drinks and the internet, Celebrity Xcel remains more budget-friendly.

The average cost for Celebrity Xcel across the analyzed itineraries is $3,658, a 23.07% reduction compared to Star of the Seas at $4,755.
In Social media you will find a lot of discussions, especially on Reddit, showing different opinions on this pricing difference. Some say it's like comparing apples to oranges, emphasizing Royal Caribbean's family focus and extensive amenities, while Celebrity Cruises is for a more relaxed and elegant experience.
