We can see ourselves walking around the new staterooms, sliding into the waterpark, even feeling the ocean breeze and smelling the delicious food! Ok, maybe this is more like a daydream than a dream, but it's impossible to not get this excited when comes to the new Royal Caribbean ship.
An unexpected collaboration
Now, did you ever imagine or even think of a more ICONIC crossover… Lionel Messi, El 10, the one considered by many as the greatest soccer player of all time, will now become the official “Godfather” of Icon of the Seas? Let’s have a moment of silence please, I am speechless.
This news hit us as a tornado.
It's a maritime tradition for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line to name a ship’s Godfather (every ship has a Godfather or a Godmother). For Icon of the Seas, the honor was conferred to the GOAT, Messi, who will be attending the naming celebration for the new ship in Miami on January 23t, 2024.
An honor is given to the Best!
He has received the title from the cruise line President and CEO, Michael Bayley. Lionel Messi received this title with much joy and excitement, describing a feeling of thrill and honor to join the Royal Caribbean Family, and as the Icon’s responsibility conferees, he will give the ship his blessing for a safe trip for everyone onboard the cruise.
