A sparkling chest full of surprises is now waiting for you

You know what’s funny after seeing our score? A lot of people (like, uhh, me) thought the Disney Treasure would be a divisive addition to Disney Cruise Line.

They weren’t exactly wrong. After all, we’re talking about a Wish-class ship — and while the Disney Wish has plenty of fans, many passengers have pointed out some major issues, like the layout, crowded public spaces, and narrow hallways that make it harder to get around.

The Disney Treasure keeps the same general layout as the Wish, but it’s a big step up in almost every way. It looks more charming, features some fantastic specialty dining options, and offers amazing stage shows, making it one of the best Disney cruise ships to date. Seriously, just search the web or hop on Reddit. The Disney Treasure is already being called the best ship in the DCL fleet in 2025.

What we like about Disney Treasure

The Disney Treasure is beautiful and includes some awesome dining options for families of all ages. It has the same rotational dining restaurants as the Disney Wish, but replaces Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure with Plaza de Coco. Both are great options, honestly, especially considering that Arendelle is one of the best and most interesting restaurants in DCL history. The main difference is that Arendelle features Anna, Elsa, and food inspired by Norway, while Plaza de Coco offers Mexican cuisine and a show inspired by the adventures of Miguel.

The Disney Treasure also has the best collection of bars among all DCL ships. Periscope Pub, Skipper Society, and Haunted Mansion Parlor are all amazing and based on different Disney IPs - from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea to Jungle Cruise and, yes, the classic Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland. All of them are fantastic adults-only bars at night, with great theming and atmosphere. Periscope Pub is often regarded as the best of the three, but the atmosphere and visual effects at Haunted Mansion Parlor are also top-notch. It’s safe to say that all three options are better than the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge on the Disney Wish.

The Tale of Moana is the exclusive show on the Disney Treasure, and it's also being considered the best show across all Disney ships. That’s quite an achievement, considering Disney ships are known for their amazing stage shows, like Frozen and Aladdin. The show features some great scenes with classic songs like “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.” And since the Disney Treasure also has the Beauty and the Beast presentation - which is considered at least a top 5 stage show on DCL - it’s safe to say that the Treasure has one of the best stage show lineups across all Disney ships.

The Disney Treasure also feels like the Wish on steroids. Everything here is more beautiful and impressive, including the main hall, which is inspired by the fictional realm of Agrabah. The Grand Hall is stunning, and the perfect blend of elegance and Disney magic, complete with a statue of Jasmine and Aladdin riding the magic carpet. It’s also in the Grand Hall that you’ll find Coriander and Sage - two comedy actors who put on an amazing show, connecting guests to all that’s new aboard the Treasure. Many guests online actually say that this duo is one of the best things about the Disney Treasure, and a big, beautiful surprise.

What we don’t like about Disney Treasure

The price.

Yeah, I know, we’re talking about Disney Cruise Line, where prices are usually pretty steep. Of course, this is also the case with the Treasure, where a week-long cruise starts at $6,600 for a family of four. If that family wants a verandah cabin and decides to cruise during the summer in mid-June, they’d be looking at $12,700. That’s definitely expensive, especially considering a seven-day cruise can cost around $3,500 per passenger. Ouch.

There are still a few design decisions that feel flawed and carry over from the Disney Wish. For example, there’s no walking track on the ship, the pool in the adults-only area is pretty small, and there’s a definite lack of midship elevators. These were common complaints on the Wish, and unfortunately, they’re still present here.

Conclusion

The Disney Treasure takes what made the Wish great and makes it even better, with some smart improvements in design. The spaces feel less crowded than those on the Wish, even though the layout is nearly identical. The real stars of the show aboard the Treasure are the new Tale of Moana stage show, the Plaza de Coco restaurant, and the surprisingly fun Coriander and Sage duo in the Grand Hall. If you’re planning a cruise with Mickey and Minnie, look no further than the Disney Treasure.
